As part Filipino, let's not sugar-coat the fact that there are really a lot of Filipinas who marry foreigners for better lives. But that doesn't mean they are just for the money with no love. You'd get some really good ones too! The way you'd know if they are in just for the money is if they keep asking for money and buy materialistic stuff or refuse to help themselves by not working as well.

Either you save up or wait for that Christmas bonus so you can buy new clothes and shoes. So giving clothes and shoes to someone else could mean, at the very least, caring for that person.

She doesn't know! He was supporting her 3 other kids that's not even hers in the Philippines. Paying all her bills. Even tho he's broke. So of course his friend would be suspicious of her intentions. In another episode when he finally told her he is no longer a manager, she got so pissed and called him stupid and left the house to stay with a friend. So money definitely is an important issue to her.

It's nice that shaun protects his family. Same situation with me. I married korean. Before I gave birth all his friends told him to separate because my kid might not be his. Take care of each others and not other people don't mind others as well because at the end of the day it will only be just you and your family. I keep telling my husband to grow up because till now he's busy spending time with friends, meeting friends even now he flew to another province to meet his friend with out us. I know he needs it but forgetting to take care of our family is too much. I'm really frustrated right now. I hope if you guys found a partner who is loving and caring please love one another. OF COURSE people are going to have questions about her "intentions". My family did, too, about my wife UNTIL they got to know her personally. ANY family (and friends) are going to have deep concerns. When I first went to Manila and met my wife's extended family in Manila, they were very leery of me and my intentions and I don't blame them; they have concerns for their relatives, just like American's have concerns for our relatives. I LOVE my Filipino family 110%, all of them, and I wouldn't trade any of them for anything! Shaun seems like a very nice, very honest man... they seem like a good couple together, and I wish them the best of luck and love!
