For others wondering about the dino gate change. Basically people were abusing tons of dino gates on quetz platform saddles so they made it so you can only have 2 dino gates per platform (this includes rafts). To make this build work now place 2 dino gates on one of the sides that already has a wall down the middle. Where the 6 other dino gates were supposed to go you have to use normal walls, this means you cannot have a cab on top of the boat. Also, there will be a gap between the top wall and the foundation of the boat. Switch the foundation to block style to fill this gap.

This is a great design as you can also build this upward minus the cab. I'm primarily seafaring on my server so my base is modular boats each serving a specific function. This is excellent as a pen for smaller or medium sized dinos.

Looks like some of the other posters are correct. Patch 262 for PC adds back in using ceilings to extend foundations outside the nerfed 3x3, but building underneath the boat is still restricted unless you use the server setting to disable it.

I like to use a feeding trough instead of a preserving bin for food. It still preserves YOUR food and it keeps your dinos fed as a bonus. Also has significantly more slots for storage and doesn't require fuel!

Well actually thanks for being good youtuber so devs reverted the change on rafts. Will go ahead and make myself a nice taming raft for UW dinos.

SEEROER in the comments of his video says it no longer works apparently... Asked him if a sub patch happenned in between, could be the code that restored boat building was rolled back with a sub patch...

Huzzah, v263 undoes the raft nerf! Also, with behemoth gates, they open in or out depending on if you stand to their left and face right or stand right and face left. A lot of people don't notice because they open a bunch in rapid succession and get into an alternating pattern.

Yes I'm getting a lot of comments saying it's being brought back. These are Dino gates which don't work like behemoth gates, they usually only open one way but every now and then they randomly go the other way.

Try making a new expedition boat but a little smaller due to the new update

Love your builds but with my experiences with the Leedsichthys on the Rag servers lately and I'm not driving a raft far enough from shore to build this thing. I had a Leedsichthys attack my boat/raft as I was skimming the shore around the blue obelisk and it was all I could do but to put it up on shore. The Leedsichthys got caught up on a large rock , inches from shore!! Same experience trying to squeeze around the swamp biome in the water. You either agro crocs which are as fast as your raft or Leedsichthys which crush my raft. They are truly trying to push players off rafts which is pretty frustrating.

They undid the boat nerf you can still make awesome boat designs!!!!!

You can usually just shoot them through the hole in the top, but can also just open the dino gates, sharks cant fit through them only the giant hatch frame.

Confirmed, you can snap foundations under thatch roofs again on PC but it has to be enabled in the server .ini , default it is disabled.

I'm very new to ark but im so lost in this video. everyone else seems to follow along really well but i didn't. my rutter didnt look the same and had to demolish a foundation to be able to access the raft to drive it. then when you first started using ceilings it got confusing. it looks like foundation from under the water and nothing like mine when i look at it. I keep watching over and over and cant figure out what im missing

You don't need to irrigate if its outside, the rain is sufficient.

You are limited to 88 pieces on a raft (138 on motorboat), when you are building to the limit every piece counts.

Why does everything go through the walls and gates when driving the raft?

I am wondering if you could come up with some ideas for how to defend against or counter Mandalore boats (C4 penis boats) and Breach Boats? Seems like no matter how nice a boat I build, trolls would come and c4 it.

How do you get sharks in here? they can't fit through dino gates, and they don't like to go through the hatchframes.

They do go through giant hatchframes, even alpha megalodon will. You can also just draw the to the surface and drive the raft over them they will pass through the side of a moving raft.

hey xonewingx is your plants still working on your boat? my plants will grow to fruiting but I can't activate them and I don't think they shoot

xONEWINGx (Xbox)yeah it sucks because whales are a huge problem, when they limited the ceiling builds I moded your expedition boat I can fit in a lot more random stuff.

I would have gone with a Mortar and Pestle for making Narcotics.

ONEWING is the best raft builder in Ark

Sharks wont fit through the doors or hatchframes, I guess their hitboxes have been updated.

I set up this cage and it works but not entirely, if I lure an ichty inside, it stays locked ... but if I drive with the raft around the itchy manages to get out of it ... no idea why, it must be a bug.megas doenst seen to go inside, i think they know something will happen haha.... well anyway thanks for the video, its a nice sea cage.

Structures lose their collision when you move the raft. You have to keep the raft still in order for the dino to stay inside.

So an update... i figured out what I did wrong on the first part. I finally finish the build and when i move my shark goes right through it and stays put. what did i do wrong? lol

Do megalodons fit through the doors?

I checked the options and didn't sed anything new. I'm doing to try it on an official server and see if it works.

Don't feel sorry for me mate I was just a blow in, that base was the work of just two, whom I do feel sorry for as they are great friendly guys who keep getting dicked by people. Unfortunately the server got shut down during the raid so none of us could get on to help them defend it. This be the reason I don't build bases.
