The spout that was in water is actually a 3 toed sloth and they mostly cover themselves in moss(or algae) and there good swimmers

Sloths actually survived because they weren’t slow back then and were giant. they were incredibly dangerous and have a giant mouth to crush bones.

That’s because of their body temperature issues. The reason why sloths move so slowly is because if they move too fast, their bodies heat up too much. This is somewhat solved when they’re swimming due to the water keeping them cool while moving.

Sloths are so slow that moss grows on their fur and helps them blend in. Also sloths are slow but they are surprisingly good swimmers
