I’m pretty sure that what Dalinar is referencing when he thinks that he’s experiencing this before “but from the other side” is how the last time they fought on the tower it was Sadeas who was surrounded and overwhelmed by Parshendi and Dalinar had to go in and save him. I think it is supposed to hammer in just how devastating and cruel Sadeas’s betrayal is since he put Dalinar in the exact position that he had saved him from. Dalinar saved Sadeas because he had honor whereas Sadeas betrayed Dalinar to the fate he was saved from because he had none.

58:06 I wanna add to this and hammer home just how important Dalinar's action was to Kaladin in particular. remember, Amaram coveted the Shards, he valued them more than than the respect, loyalty, trust, and even *_life_* of his subordinates. he betrayed Kaladin's squad, slaughtering the remainder who'd survived the battle, and branding and enslaving Kaladin himself, so that he could have that Blade and Plate for himself. Dalinar, in stark contrast, with no compulsion or reluctance, willingly relinquished his Blade in order to rescue Kaladin and a *_thousand_* bridgemen from slavery, despair, and fatal labor, and would likely do so again without any hesitation. in Kaladin's eyes, this is the single *_greatest_* act of Honor any individual could have performed for him. in an instant, Dalinar basically earned himself an ocean's worth of Kaladin [affection+] points.

Thank you for the Nale Easter egg. I’m so glad Jimmy asks “Why?” on things that are so easily overlooked. I love how Sanderson slips significant things in so casually that most of us miss them, especially the first time around. I agree with Christian, that these books can be read and enjoyed easily on a surface level and I love that they are so deep in connections if a person wants to take the time to ask, “Why?”.

As a scientist, the navani chapters in RoW were my favourites, but at the same time I'm also wary of the technification of a magic system, which is atractive normally because it is something unquantifiable and foreign to our brains. I hope Sanderson manages to keep a balance between the specifics and the abstract.

I have a book club with some friends, two are new and two of us have read the books. We are half way through Oathbringer. Around the end of Way of Kings I made a CREMLING WATCH segment of our book club becasue of this podcast. Even though none of us eally knows why they are critical exactly, it is one of the more fun parts of our conversations! Its the part we all laugh the most together with out a doublt. I would take time to watch a crelming live event for sure!

"Unite them" I believe Brandon is double speaking with this line, the small and the big, unite the lands and unite the shards. Sazed has already shown its possible and he is the hero ages, as in more than the mistborn age

30:50 Eshonai wanted to meet up with Dalinar so that she could negotiate a peace treaty. The war was taking its toll on the listener population (and also the chasmfiends) by then.

Henry Cavill i've seen a lot of people mention for Lord Ruler fan cast. I like him for Vasher myself....and Xavier Bardem is my head cannon for Kelsier, not sure why as i base it off his Bond character haha.

I pronounced it as you did but a few years ago I heard hardcore fans pronouncing it the way I do now so I've kinda adopted it. I have a vague memory of Steven Erikson saying he didn't mind how people pronounced it so we're both in the clear!

Aren't the Rosharian race completely different to IRL races? So any adaptation isn't beholden to such restrictive casting?
