Shaq's shooting from 3-10 feet (43.4%) was actually pretty average by NBA standards in his time. Shaq struggled to score from outside the paint though. Scoring efficiency from 3-10 feet was actually better in Shaq's time because lots of bigs back then posted up and knew how to score post hooks and short-range shots. A lot of NBA players today only know how to score dunks, layups and 3s so efficiency from 3-10 feet is worse than it used to be. Only the elite players can score from 3-22 feet now.

The combination of the sheer size and athleticism, it won’t ever be seen again. Kobe was right when he said, if Shaq was determined and serious, he would’ve been the greatest player of all time no questions asked. You couldn’t do anything with him besides send him to the free throw line. We’ve never seen a team as dominant in the paint as Shaq. He did whatever he wanted whenever he wanted.

For such big man he had the softest of touches around the rim. A force to be reckoned with.

Shaq was 7'1" 325 lbs and probably the fastest most athletic guy of his height and weight of all-time. You had no choice but to get out of the way. Taking a charge against Shaq is not worth it.
