There are people who think that Tim Duncan is a boring player. Well, I would rather say that he's a professional. Yeah, he doesen't celebrate every time he scores, he's not on many magazine covers and I don't think he's even on twitter or facebook. This guy is all about basketball. He didn't switch teams like Durant or LeBron did and there wasn't such a thing as "farewell tour" (but it's ok Kobe we understand it's all about you :D). He just left. Without drama or publicity. I think that says a lot about TD and San Antonio Spurs. That's why I consider myself as SAS fan for life! Winners, workers and professionals without that sassy stuff.

Tim Duncan is simply a class act. Doesn't care about the spotlight, stats, media or even his sense of fashion. The guy just wants to ball out and win and at the same time he's just that humble and genuine. First ballot Hall Of Famer no question asked. And thank you TD for showcasing your fundamental skills for young generations to come. As a DIE-HARD Basketball fan I'm kinda pissed Curry fucked the NBA up by showing his God-like shooting skills, now kids these days just wanna pull up and shoot the 3 instead of learning the basic fundamentals of Basketball which is why Tim for his age and a PF has lasted and played consistently for 19 seasons strong. The footwork, pump-fake, up and under, post-up side hook-shot, bank-shot(both sides), scoop and under, tear-drop. Thank you "Mr. Fundamental"

Im 26 years old and im from one of those countries where soccer is the national sport, and basquetball is not a really popular sport. I was 12 years old when a friend gave me the "NBA Live 2000" for PS One as a bd gift, and David Robinson, Tim Duncan and Mario Elie made me fall in love not only with a team that has forever dyed my heat on silver and black, but also with this magnificent sport. FOR ME, there is no spurs without Tim Duncan, ever since i knew about the existance of the NBA this man has been playing, so for me that ive never seen the NBA without this legend playing, his retirement hit me very hard and made me cry like a baby.

Man, still love watching these. As a lifelong Spurs fan since the 90s as a kid, I remember almost all of these. I even remember the post game interviews and jokes as I watched them afterwards all the time. I remember Duncan joking “I can shoot 3s but Pop as been holding me back” from that Suns 3 clip. He joked that Pop had been holding his three point talent behind😂. I remember the Sonics game when Jerome James from the Sonics said he “gave no respect” to the Spurs (and became a bust himself, as well as motivating the Spurs that series so thanks). Shaq’s “one lucky shot deserves another” quote when Duncan hit that shot but then Fischer hit the Point 4, boo! That’ll always sting alongside Allen’s three. Those were two amazing long decades. And now new memories from this new kid Im sure some have heard about, some alien kid……..😊

Kobe got robbed of at least 2 mvps, 1 more Finals mvp is cool but Duncan really hasn't been an integral piece since they won in 2007 when Parker won finals mvp, shaq left cause he wanted more money and couldn't take rising to his own so that's on him, Kobe did take less money they just didn't sign anyone, lol kobe is also a great defender dont even have to list his all defensive team selections, Duncan did want to go the magic at one point but of course no one talks about that and just like he ended up not leaving so I don't wanna hear that, lol being in the lottery is on the management and front office plus every team has gone through a rebuild phase at some point. Especially the Spurs before they got Duncan. Name me one team in history that's won 50 plus games and made the playoffs for 19 straight seasons? 😂 yea I'll wait that's an anomaly and never happening again he was blessed to have one coach, one system, and consistent players. He wouldn't have done much with smush and kwame.

a team that's won 50 plus games and made the playoffs for 19 straight seasons sounds like a great argument for why Timmy D is the greatest franchise player of all time, not a reason to diss him. Duncan was the cornerstone of the franchise for about 15 of those years, and in the past 4 years it's been Parker/Manu/Kawhi and now Lamarcus, but the vast majority of his career it's been on Timmy's shoulders. My list looks like this: 1) Kareem Abdul-Jabbar 2) MIchael Jordan 3) Lebron James 4) Wilt Chamberlain 5) Magic Johnson 6) Tim Duncan 7) Kobe Bryant 8) Larry Bird 9) Hakeem Olajuwon 10) Shaq

  • @MikeDiastavrone3

+Kirbystare1992 Kobe was the one that needed a coach, system, and consistent players. Duncan led his team with his off-court behavior, being a coachable player who quietly dominated games and trusted his teammates to help them develop into better players. Kobe is a ball-dominant player that hardly ever saw a shot he didn't like which, combined with his loud competitive attitude, turned a lot of people off from playing with him and that's why the Lakers had scrubs for a good portion of his career. And that's also the reason why he didn't win more MVPs. Voters were more impressed by players like Duncan or Nash that elevated their teams and functioned as an extension of the coach on the court, hence why Kobe's lone MVP came when he bought into Phil Jackson's system and the Lakers got Pau Gasol.

Jeremiah Van Dassor Bird is.He's played in a tougher era with injuries all his career and 3 rings with only 5 appearances. He didn't need to get saved twice in order to win he simply did it himself. Not to mention he averaged 24 points and 10 boards as a SF.

Chris EZbreezy Damn I thought you were gonna give a good explanation as to why you thought that but now I just know you're a hater. His era wasn't tougher. The rules were just different cause the game was still evolving. Lebron has won 3 rings and is possibly gonna get 1 or 2 more. He didn't get saved either 3 times. It's a team game and either way when Ray Allen hit that shot that was game 6 and in game 7 he balled out and had 30+ points and almost got a trible double and the one this year if it wasn't for his block that shot by Kyrie wouldn't have happened. Plus he made the free throw to go up by 4 to make it a 2 possession game. Bird had a super team that had been together in a time when it was Celtics-Lakers in the finals every year so he didn't do it himself. Lebron averages 25,7,7 for his career and had a 60+ win season and carried the Cavs for 7 years. Take your hate somewhere else. You aren't even old enough to have seen Bird play
