The machining of large and custom shapes spun around the Z-axis in a helical path, typically obtained through threading or rope threading, can be quite challenging. Due to the large contact area caused by custom-shaped cutters, such operations are often expensive and prone to poor surface finish due to chatter.
With this new option inside the turning threading toolpath, you no longer need to use custom inserts, write parametric programs, or use powerful and rigid machines to get a good surface finish. You only need a regular grooving tool and a post-processor tweaked to output out-of-the-box threading cycles.
