I am curious how this chucks work.
What you see is just a bushing, the actual clamping happens in a collet behind the bushing which holds up to 6 meters of stock and is usually connected to a bar feeder. Quite nuts especially on the machines that have 6 or 8 of those spindles.

А помоему просто обработка по контуру
Вроде бы сборку "разгрузили", но сам SolidCam при этом дико стал тормозить от такого способа добавления оснастки. И чем подробнее модель оснастки, тем хуже производительность. Тиски, патроны, прихваты все равно быстрей работают из сборки. Единственный плюс - только место на дисках можно больше освободить, убрав 3Д модели оснастки на съемные носители. НО, В ЦЕЛОМ, ИДЕЯ ХОРОША ДЛЯ ДАЛЬНЕЙШЕЙ ПРОРАБОТКИ.

Hi, great video !! I went through this exactly with a similar self centering vise. In the setup it looks perfect, part is clamped perfectly in the vise and placed correctly on the machine bed. But when I go to the machine simulation the jaws are shown as opened and away from the stock? Any suggestions please. In Solid Verify it is perfect, vice jaws are clamped perfectly on part.
Found the problem - had to update SolidCAM to Version SP2HF2
I realize this is a demo but doesn't seem the 4th axis was necessary.
It seems more practical to use a boring method on this part to hog out the concentric center, then use the mill to finish mill the end arcs. You are using a teaspoon to hog out a swimming pool. Pay attention or pay cash sir.
Great to see the evolution of associative coordinate system. For ten years I have used a workaround to achieve similar results.
