He is not a monk but you can learn martial arts at Shaolin temple. The monks certainly strengthen his neck the way I saw in many videos. Very impressive. He then may learn kickboxing after his Shaolin training.

Yi long isnt a monk.. never was, never will be. Hes a sanda kickboxer who played a monk in a chinese tv show so he took the same gimmick in the ring. And as far as thinking shaolin monks are unbeatable.. no. They themselves say they wouldnt win against professionals in or out of the ring.

There are very good giants fighters, like the russian giant that went 50-2 in boxing. In one of his lost match his opponent said he broke his arm punching the giant chin. Their size means their bones are crazy big, if they train as a fighter early the bones would be so hard for people to even kick the legs and punch the faces at high force without damaging themselves.
