Andy Reidnia responsible for Mahomes just like Kyle Shannan is responsible for Jimmy G and Brock Purdue.. See what happened when Jimmy G went to the Raiders? Got the bag and got benched. Put Purdy on the Bears last season and you have at best a Tyson Bagent like performance but let’s pretend that the QB doesn’t need a good supporting cast but he will throw to himself and catch all his own passes.. If Shane Waldron is who you think will make Williams the next Mahomes how come Geno Smith had a bad year as soon as Dave Canales left the Seahawks and Baker Mayfield suddenly seemed like QB1? Next Season Bryce Young will look like a star and the Bear fans will say we passed on Bryce Young and CJ Stroud for Fields forgetting they have no real OC to make those guys relevant.. Trade back to WAS, see if you can get #2, #36, #40 and #1 next year. Once you get to 2 overall. Call NE, see if they want to give up something, maybe a 2nd and a 4th or 5th...whatever. Then Draft MHJ at 3. Maybe package some picks and move up from 9, pick up 1 of the top Tackles. Draft Jackson Powers or Van Pran in the 2nd or 3rd....thats no less than 4 starters to your ball club. If im Eberflus, im pulling out all the stops for 1 year because I think he needs to make the playoffs not to get fired. Best chance is with JF1 plus the above.

You draft Caleb & you don't make the playoffs, Eberflus gets fired, the offensive staff you just hired is gone after one year bc the next guy is going to want his staff. Literally setting up Caleb with the same situation Justin was in when he was drafted. Keep JF1, and build this damn team up for the future. Pay JJ, get a center, another RG, & a veteran or young LT. So what happens after next year when Justin is making 25% of the salary cap? Why does everyone ignore the fact it's not just Justin vs Caleb. It's Caleb at $7 mil or Justin at $45-50 mil per season... It's not even a question which ones I'm taking. Especially when one has 3 years of tape showing he has flashes of greatness then drive after drive of missed opportunities. People see the highlight runs and ignore the rest of the game. If we had a mid-round pick, you have to lock him up and go. But we have a unique luxury of resetting the clock and taking another stab at an incredibly highly rated prospect. Ask the Giants and Cardinals if they wish they had our position and didn't have to commit $160-200 mil to DJ and Kyler....

Justin Fields is the guy for me, but I'm now at the point where I say, reset the clock, draft Williams, give the new OC a fresh QB to start and impose his ideas on and let Justin get his money elsewhere. If we struggle again this coming season under Williams then we'll have another early pick to help him in 2025. Whatever happens I want to see Fields go somewhere and win a Superbowl, that's all that will shut his haters up. I'll be delighted for him, even if he sticks it to us in the process.

There’s no guarantee Caleb Williams is going to be a superstar. I watched him in several games this year and he’s very temperamental. If you stick with Fields and trade that pick not only do you get two No. 1s but you also get the extra picks. The Bears have never had a HOF WR so why not take Marvin Harrison Jr or Malek Nabers they’re both absolute studs. Then at No. 9 get that stud OL. Fields gets more protection and better passing options. He’s never gonna be a great passer but with all that talent around him maybe he’ll become a top 15 QB and you can win with the right team and defense. That said personally I like Jayden Daniels a lot but there’s no way the Bears are gonna use the No. 1 on him that would be a trade down.

He has progressed greatly with his throwing motion if you just watch a few games at the end, you can see his throws up the middle of the field Were what you were looking for as far as quickness I’m Delivery. So I know he’s got the capability to keep improving because he’s incredibly talented, he runs with a physicality and grace like no other quarterback. He’s highly intelligent and has the right balanced personality and leadership skills.we’re just scratching the surface of his ability and we should build around that, get more players to make this team better not just think about one spot because you can’t just win with the quarterback and it would take another couple years to develop a new one

Why is the Caleb story so mainstream, not because of the bears? They are just a pawn in the process. NFL NEEDS Caleb to be that guy. NFL prides itself on parity, hence why we have NFL teams in small media markets. Mahomes is crushing that theory this year. So, you need a NFC showman QB; Dak and Baker both shit the bed, and the other NFC QBs aren't flamboyant. So NFL needs the Bears or Commanders not to screw this up.

How is it that Caleb haters are ignoring Riley's disappointing role as head coach who recklessly passed up sustaining an oline and improving a defense that could have gotten Caleb a 2nd Heisman and improved playoff run. GM must decide about Justin in 3rd yr with big contract and Caleb in first yr, who developmentally has the best upside. Why aren't people comparing college Caleb to college Patrick?

If Da Bears take Caleb Williams, we are going to have to restart the rebuild all over again. Putting a team's future on a rookie QB is exactly how JF1 got into this current situation in the first place--especially when Da Bears had ZERO (flaky at best) pass protection with the O-line, only a couple of dependable receivers (one of which is our TE) and a very questionable and unreliable play caller at OC (bye Getsy). Poles is currently building a team where no individual player is so important that we cannot play without them--a team where the 2nd and 3rd strings step in and continue our progress. Compare this to our past where the whole team's success hinged on a single player's abilities. Poles is creating a team for the future and not just for now. 🐻🐻🐻🐻⬇⬇⬇⬇

I watched Fields and Williams college film and both are good. I did not think Williams is so much better. If anything, his tape had a lot of playground highlights. I’m just a fan, but they look like a similar dual threat player where Fields is taller, bigger, faster, and more experienced. The passing comparisons of both players in college was very similar; whereas Williams is 2-6 against top 15 teams. Justin’s has some bad NFL passes in the flat, but he’s not throwing terrible INTs downfield, he goes through his progressions, and he makes the pinpoint throws. The WRs dropped a lot of them. I prefer sticking with JF1 and trading back based on a strong preference for a humble, blue collar, and team-first personality. Both guys can be good pros.

There should be a skilled offensive minded Coach running the HC spot. But whatever! If they don't take Caleb and drop Fields off for some picks. Then they will stay garbage and nvr win anything. Numbers aren't on his side nor is winning and scoring from the pocket on his side neither. I'm a Trojans fan from southern California and I have watched EVERY game Caleb played at SC and I can tell u that he is not as disciplined as u think and he holds on to the ball WAY TOO MUCH and just runs around trying to play superman and make a heroic play. THAT SHIT WON'T WORK OUT IN THE NFL on a regular basis. He has good speed but he is not Lamar Jackson type fast though, he can be caught. Y'all Bears fans better be careful for what y'all asking for. It will take a really good coach and coordinator to hold him accountable every time because he is not used to accountability at all. He has thrown fits when shit doesn't go his way. I like & respect Shay but I see he has got caught up in all the hoopla about Caleb Williams. Every years a quarterback comes out of college & for ratings or what have ya, 98% aren't any good & don't last in the league that long & best end up being a back up. Justin is DAMM RIGHT & will be good very soon in the future, he has shown us all his great skills, IF HE HAD CAME INTO A BETTER SITUATION when coming to the Bears, that wasn't the case by NO MEANS. But Bears are really seemingly trying this time, something we haven't seen in years, Ryan is the best thing the Bears franchise got right so far. Now what he needs to do is work Justin into the Bears organization with a decent contract & watch Justin be ond of the greatest QB of all these dudes playing today. I'm not saying this with my emotions, you can't sit a world pole vaulting record running down the track with a tooth pick. Justin came to Chicago with INTELLIGENCE, TALENTS & SPEED & the Bears gave him a tooth picks for development. If the Bears don't want to look so terrible as they have with QB's in the past, THEY NEED TO KEEP HIM FOR ANOTHER YEAR !! Because its not just Ryan's career on the spot its the Bears whole organization that'll take a big hit on this one, this time. Players don't really want to be a Bear & this will help the team gain respect for many years, when people see they really do care for their players. Ryan can get a job any where in the league after showing these few years what he's capable of. But don't hurt Justin by letting him go & coming back to KILL THE BEARS.
