Shaq plays in the post where does Lebron plays on the perimeter and in the post and Lebron isn’t always looking to score he beats u with his Brains and his god given talent like his speed and quickness along with his strength and athletic ability. I think the Bulls still could have won a series, but MJ is too small to guard him one on one and still play great offense, it would have required team defense. No one would be able to stop MJ either, but they would have had to foul Lebron to stop him consistently.

Dennis guarded, Magic, Bird, Shaq, Pippen, Jordan, Malone, and Barkley in their prime. All hall of Famers, no good offensive player can be "Shut Down" especially in today's rules; but he was the best defender the NBA has ever seen and would make it difficult for him. He could definitely guard Lebron and do a great job.

@Williford Bustin did you ever watch Rodman play? Who ever stopped MJ/Shaq? Rodman would have LeQueen James so upset and crying to the refs, LeQueenie couldnt play his game. There is a reason why MJ wanted him on the Bulls (even after he was HATED by the Bulls and especially Pippen). No one stopped MJ, and the only way to stop Shaq was to deny him the ball (good luck with that). Rodman was a GREAT defender, and best rebounder of his era. And during his time with the bulls, was a VITAL piece in the triangle offense. LeQueenie James has not faced a player of Rodman's caliber, they dont exist in the 'say her name NBA'

Speed/Quickness-For that size faster or as fast as any guard or forward ever. 5. Athleticism- 40+ Inch Vert and 1 of the top athletes of all time. @@jayentv6264 Literally what I said. However... They're different defenders. It's extremely hard to compare guys directly from different eras. Rodman played against very few athletic players in comparison. Kawhi is a better defender, probably, than Rodman was.

Rodman was excellent defensively when they actually played defense in the NBA. The league is SAWFT now. Rodman would get a tech before the game ever got started lol

Rodman would have disrupted his game better than most. Rodman would be one of the best defenders in the NBA today as he was back then.

FYI Rodman had serious hops. He definitely played above the rim .

people don’t understand that if him and lebron raced without the ball or jumped with eachother rodman would match or beat him in these categories rodman had raw strength and athleticism he wasn’t the most skilled so he couldn’t convert it into crazy dunks and layups and becoming a scorer but he can sure defend and rebound and he contained shaq who is stronger than lebron and he can guard quick scorers like jordan himself so i think rodman would be my pick to guard lebron

Rodman's rebounding wasn't his jumping, it was his technique. He even explained it, but you can see it in his videos. All he needed to do was get a few fingers on the ball and he'd tip it to his advantage. That was what made him better than everyone else.

Come on! Shaq only dominated in the paint so obviously Roman had a chance. The same way Ben Wallace dominated him in 2004. LeBron plays mostly outside the paint, has more strength than most NBA players ever and his speed at that size is unmatched. Rodman is good, don't get me wrong but it would be in for a long day at the office, Bron will drop the shoulder on him all day.

Rodman took Shaq out of games so yes he could easily defend Lebron and could also easily get in his head and mind and drive him nuts. He also took a prime Karl Malone out of games.

Rodman always looks like he's coming from the circus and behaves like whatever. This guy studied every single player he played against, he studied where rebounds would go and be there. He was a student of basketball like some of the greats and if he says he can defend someone... I take his word for it.

Rodman is one of the best. Unmatched Mental game + insane basketball IQ + natural superior athleticism + tremendous work ethic. The games rules back in the day made for rougher & tougher players & Dennis would not have trouble if he played in this era.
