Another USP was their compositions were so catchy and liked by masses and classes equally.in addition to that be it orchestra arrangements,creation of preludes and Interludes,use of chorus , back ground score,title songs or theme songs shankar Jaikishan were the Trend setters in all respect.shankar Jaikishan were indeed miles ahead of their contemporaries in all the department of music and they proved it time and again.unki baat hi alag thi aur unka andaz bhi juda tha rather in short I must say that the whole team of shankar Jaikishan was simply superb and genius to the core ,the music composers duo were par excellence who said to have divine touch in their composition.

Though I am a fan RDB, I always loved the way they composed songs with lots of musicians by using all available instruments like violins, guitars and accordions. Some of the preludes of the songs are astounding and mesmerising

सबसे पहले तो मैं इस कार्यक्रम को बनाने वाले श्रीमान जी को धन्यवाद देना चाहता हूं जिन्होंने कड़ी मेहनत इसे बनाया और चुन चुन कर जानकारियां जुटाई। शंकर जयकिशन वास्तव में भारतीय फिल्म संगीत के वह उपहार हैं जिन्हें ईश्वर ने कृपा कर यहां भेजा। अपने शुरुआती दौर में ही उन्होंने जो अपनी प्रतिभा का प्रदर्शन किया उसका कोई सानी नहीं है ‌।उनकी प्रामाणिक फिल्मों में बरसात, आवारा तो हैं ही, शिकस्त, दाग़,औरत,बागी सिपाही, पूनम, पतित,राजहठ,नया घर,बादल इत्यादि वह फिल्में हैं जिन्होंने उन्हें ख्याति दी। उनके संगीत की विविधता की कोई सीमा नहीं है। आवारा फिल्म के अन्तिम दृश्य के पार्श्व संगीत में ओ बसंती पवन पागल की धुन सुनाई देती है, जो बात में, जिस देश में गंगा बहती है, फिल्म के गाने का हिस्सा बनी फिल्म आह , के पार्श्व संगीत में जाने कहां गए वो दिन की धुन,मेरा नाम जोकर फिल्म के आधार भूत गीत का भाग बनी ‌इसी तरह १९५६ में आई फिल्म चोरी चोरी के पार्श्व संगीत में सब कुछ सीखा हमने की धुन सुनाई देती है जो तीन वर्ष बाद अनाड़ी फिल्म के गाने में इस्तेमाल हुई। शंकर जयकिशन ने सुरैया को छोड़कर दर्जनों गायक/गायिकाओं का इस्तेमाल किया दिग्गज मुहम्मद रफ़ी, लता, आशा भोंसले,उषा, मुकेश, मन्ना डे,तलत महमूद, हेमन्त कुमार, नलिनी चोणकर,चन्द्रू आत्मा,सुमन कल्याणपुर, गीता दत्त, मुबारक बेगम, शमशान बेगम, सुबीर सेन किशोर कुमार, शारदा, पंडित भीमसेन जोशी इत्यादि वह नाम हैं जो शंकर जयकिशन के गीतों के हीरे और मोती बने। शंकर जयकिशन यारों के यार थे। अपने अभिन्न मित्र शैलेन्द्र की फिल्म, तीसरी कसम,के कालजयी संगीत के लिए उन्होंने कोई पैसा नहीं लिया।इसी तरह शंकर के सहपाठी रहे चन्द्रशेखर जिन्होंने बसन्त बहार एवं स्ट्रीट सिंगर फिल्में बनाई उनका भी कोई दाम नहीं लिया। शंकर जयकिशन की दर्जनों ऐसी फिल्में हैं जिन्हें फिल्म फेयर अवार्ड नहीं मिल सका,संगम, बसंत बहार,लव इन टोक्यो, तीसरी कसम,बूट पॉलिश, श्री चार सो बीस, आम्रपाली इसी श्रेणी की फिल्में हैं। शंकर जयकिशन जी के ट्रेंड को अनेक संगीतकारों ने अपनाया। दर्जनों ऐसे गाने हैं जो इतिहास बन चुके हैं। वास्तव में वह भारत रत्न पाने के सर्वथा उपयुक्त हैं मैं पिछले पचास सालों से उनका भक्त हूं और करोड़ों सैल्यूट करता हूं उन्हें। रहती दुनिया में जब तक संगीत है उनके तराने फजाओं में गूंजते रहेंगे 🙏🙏।

wo daur hi aisa tha jab 1949 me ek chamatkar jaisa hua aur shankar jaikishan ki entry hue Bollywood music industry me. Shankar jaikishan ki barsat me kissi ka bhi thehrana jaise possible nahi tha. There after shankar jaikishan and their team mainly shailendra,hasrat, Sébastien, Dutta ram and many others permanent associate keep establishing their authority time and again that they are the now force to reckon with and their music stands fifty years ahead of their rest of the compitators, soon after barsat. Shankar jaikishan were writting the new rule of orchestra and composition, for remaining MD have left with two options, either follow them or perished. The monotonous and orthodox style of classical music all of sudden becomes old fashioned and new India was prepared to embrace the refreshing and breezy new sensation named shankar jaikishan with open arms. The socialism, shailendra, rajkaapur with shankar jaikishan composition were not only complimenting each other but become guarantee for success of any film . This team rajkaapur was not became very popular in newly independent India but the war torn world as well particularly in Russia lead communist block countries starting from China, cheezchaslwakia, Romania, China, Bulgaria, polland and last but not least the USSR. Every where you can listen 'awara hu' or mera joota he Japani'. And and this grand magical streak continues uptill the untimely and sad demise of jaikishan. I can safely infer my writing by saying that 'bade gaur se sun raha tha zamaana tumhi so gaye meharvaan kahte kahte'but shankar jaikishan and their creation will be remembered by one and all forever. Long live team and music of shankar jaikishan. Sochta hu kya likhu aur chodu but for me Shankar jaikishan means adbhut, advitiya, shaandar, shankar jaikishan means Simply superb,SJ means beyond comparision and Shankar Jaikishan means all time great na bhoota na bhavishyati.

I am moved really. This song for film Gori . I have listned to this song by Mdm Kavitha Krishna Murthy. Please roll bakl to Late 1960s or early 1970s. There was a picture by Late Kishore Sahu called Hare Kanch ke Choodiyan. In this film Shankar Jaikishan gave music. There is a title song semilar to the one we are talking about sung by Great Asha ji. Hare Kanch ke Choodiyan. please listen to this song also you can see semilarities and yet it was a wast difference in composition and tune. I want to highlight about their talent to compose such a great variety and melody combined with finest archestra. Long Live SJ.

Thanks for the well-edited collection. That couplet by Shankar at the end "baite hei unhi ke kooche mein hum aaj gunehgaaron ki tarah" is a scathing indictment of all those who let him down.

People mention his hot temper ,but he was a soft hearted kind human being. He treated Jaikishan as his younger brother. I read in one of Gujarati newspaper ( my mother tounge ) weekly edition describing his grief , pain and the feeling of lonelyness as saying these words standing in front of Jaikishanji's photo on the wall , " My brother , I am nothing without you." It made cry then and it still makes me sad. My another loss is Shailendraji. I was never a poetic person, but his lyrics made me write in Gujarati ,Hindi and English. Teesari Kasam leading to so many let downs by people was too much for गीतो के राजकुमार शैलेंद्रजी । They are still living in our hearts.

200 percent right. No one ever close to Shanker Jaikishen. They were from different planet. No one before SJ and nobody aftter SJ.

Shankar jaikishan were best ever music director for the indian film industry. Why now in indial idol or share gama not give tribute to them snd avoid there songs?

But their quality deteriorated with Shammi ! Since Junglee , every album with of SJ with shammi had 1-2 cheesy & noisy songs like “ yahoo, koi mujhe junglee kahe”, “suku suku “ , Lal chhadi maidaan khadi , badan pe sitare , nazar mein bijli ada men shole , meri bhains ko danda kyun mara,etc .

That’s a very ignorant statement. There’s was a partnership with complementary expertise. Shankar/Shailendra handled more of the serious melodramatic songs. And Jaikishan/Hasrat did more of the romantic numbers. But both were gifted composers who could manage any musical situation or parameter.
