I don't agree with a lot of what they are saying, but it's either your intentionally misinterpreting their words or you are very slow. They are saying that Floyd waited for the "right time" to get advantage. Floyd watched until they showed signs of weakness and then made the fight. Athletes are affected by age differently so they go out of their primes at different rates. Floyd's style allowed him to stay longer in his prime than Manny did, that's why they are saying he waited for Manny to get old. Though I disagree with a lot of these, some of the arguments have a debatable point.

It's different. Floyd learned to not rely on his power punching ability. He had to wait for the other boxer to deteriorate then he'll fight them. its because, Floyd only fought once in a blue moon, retired 3x to dodged fights (Winky, Margarito etc), Floyd waits till other boxers got Knock Out or coming from losses. They are saying because of their fighting styles, Floyd was in his prime for longer and other fighters were affected by age more. That is true, but it just shows all the more how brilliant Floyd is. He did not started with a very defensive style, but he changed into it as he aged to minimize the damage to his body and so that he can rely more on his accumulated experience and ring IQ rather than athleticism which fades with age. It's the other fighters' fault that they could not do the same.

They could have fought when they were both @ 130-135 in the late 90’s but Shane priced hinself out, asking for millions when he hasn’t made a million, knowing nobody would pay him or Floyd that money @ the time. Then he ducked Floyd with a tooth ache excuse when Floyd was in his prime

I respect the sniper and the door kicker. Meaning, I love fighters who will accept any challenge. Swing like crazy and go out on their shield. The door kicking type of fighter. But, I also respect the carefully calculated fighter who uses everything at his disposal to give him the best advantage. Ppl hated on GSP in the UFC. And his career kind of mimics FMJ. GSP was a kickboxer but once he got to the top top dogs he had to start relying more on his wrestling. Similar to how FMJ had to become more defensive later in his career. And you shouldn't fight everyone you can, because there's far more bums than there are top competition in boxing. That's why when you look at the resume of a guy like Cesar Chavez, he fought about 45 times before even stepping in there with a ranked fighter. As he (and any other boxer moves up in weight) it’s rare that their power moves up into the heavier classes. By the time he was near the end of his career he wasn’t fighting boxers unless he saw a flaw in them. And those are facts, whether you’re a Mayweather cheerleader or not.

your making excuses for floyd. Everything floyd did was deliberate and strategic. He wasn't extremely good at boxing. He was extremely good at keeping that O. He had the judges on his side. He killed boxing. But it is not entirely his fault. Money talks. Everyone will sell their soul for it. Everyone was involve in keeping him undefeated. There was so many controversial decisions that favor mayweather just so he could keep the money going.

If two men was running away from eachother their wont be a fight. He made you think that defensive minded boxing was a good thing. Sort off, he knew he could handle their styles. De la hoya and ricky are not the smartest boxers and especially de la hoya has no self control/anger problems. And ricky hatton is just not elite level, never has been. Both tailor made for floyd He ducked the guys who could genuinely beat him until they where to old/worn down for their boxing styles and floyd wasnt to old for his own defensive style. To all the comments saying Floyd was older, I'm sorry to say you're missing the whole point by refusing to think. Every Human is different. Not every one peaks at the same time nor do they decline at the same time as others. For some, the peak could be shorter while for others it could be longer. Current example is Artur Beterbiev. At 40 years he's displaying crazy levels of athletic abilities. Doesn't mean you put a 38 year old against him and claim Artur was not in his peak as he was older. He's an exception. Because 98% of athletes retire around 35-36 and cannot performat top level. Just because Artur or Floyd do it till 40 doesn't necessarily mean the opponents have same edge as they are younger. These people are just exceptions. Not every human can do that. Therefore some fans still feel missed out on many good matchups for Floyd. Just because Manny was 36 and Floyd was 37 doesn't mean both are off peak. Manny's body declined differently and it's purely based on one's own body. Hope this makes sense. Cheers 🍻🎉
