0:43 -- I never noticed this before, but there's a cut in here, right before he does the shamwow demo on the carpet. If you look closely, you can see how the amount of soda is *much* less when he does the demo, compared to what he shows us at the start. In fact, it looks like there's isn't any soda underneath the carpet at all.

Wait, don't they? It'd take some coordination to air the ad at a precise time and open the phone lines exactly in sync, but it would certainly be possible. I don't live in the US but it seems like a very US thing to do.

I worked with Vince back in 2006 helping in the background while he pitched. He told me of his dream to get enough money to make an infomercial, until today I never knew what happened to him! Well done Vince!

frankly, many of these TV pitchman ad products are not ripoffs, they're just overpriced. My grandparents ordered a lot of these sorts of things, and nearly all of them worked well and lasted a long time. OxiClean is now a household name and extremely well-regarded as an all-purpose cleaner and bleach, used to be a made-for-TV product pitched by Billy Mays. Those powerwasher hose attachments are also quite good. The ones that set off alarm bells indicating "scam!" for me are when the product being sold has a lot of little plastic parts and/or is only good for a very specific task; and when they use actors to "re-enact" problems you'd never realistically encounter as their sell. Guys like Vince Offer, Billy Mays, Anthony Sullivan, they made their living off of having a good reputation for pitching reliable products, so you could generally be sure if they were selling it, it at least worked as advertised.

However, there's a video of a live demo by a different salesman selling shamwows at a bazaar and it better demonstrates how absorbent it is when soaking up cola stains on carpets

Damn, my mom just told me to order ShamWow so I went to the website seen in the commercial. It's the commercial that keeps on going and giving. Yes, ShamWow is better and more cost-effective than paper towels.

when i was a kid i used to watch tv shop every now and then cuz of vince and billy mays. that was pure entertainment.

Vince was worth every penny. The guy could sell.

I have used these and they are absolutely incredible.. seriously. I know for a fact I've had one for 11 years and I still use it for drying the car, boat, and on hiking trips.
