I'd argue that Shaman King is among the Best of 4Kids dubs frankly.

Cartoons from the 80’s, 90’s and early 2000’s were so much better than cartoons of today

I love that the song is sung from the perspective of Yoh by Yoh's own voice actor.

I wish he reprised his role in the Netflix reboot. Abby Trott is fine but Sebastian Arcelus WAS Yoh as far as I’m concerned.

@@redstreak9430 definitely. Arcelus killed it with his laid background young boy voice. Abby Trott sounds like Ash Ketchum.

It’s a shame Yoh’s 4Kids actor has moved away from anime. It would have been nice to hear him reprise his role and do an updated cover of this.

@@akai3974 I probably would get a lot of hate for this but at least he sounded like a boy. The new version of shaman king is way better than the old version but it was painfully obvious that a lot of the voices for the male characters was women. Not that it's not ok to women to voice male characters but at least in shows like naruto, one piece, Fullmetal alchemist they sound like boys. The boys in this show sounds like they are in the process of transitioning from male to female. It was so cringing and yet hilarious to watch. The english version to the new version is cringing too. I kept watching it as a old shaman king fan but I can't watch it a second time. Not because of the story just the voice actors 😅

You are a GOD SEND for this. The quality is INSANE.

Just watched the first few episodes. It kind of feels like an abridged version, because they cut out a lot of filler and effectively crammed a couple episodes worth of material from the original series into individual episodes. Even so, the action and voice acting are really well done, even if Ryu’s new voice actor sounds a little too much like an Elvis impersonator

This is the one and only time I prefer the English opening over the original Japanese opening. Meaning that this is freaking god tier.

IF YOUURRR SPIRIT IS STRONGGGGG

This intro will always put me in action mode! My inner child blooms to life every time I listen to it. The lyrics are so powerful and the music is just as phenomenal - the Romanian version of this intro is just as top tier. I think this is the best ever intro song to any series, and finding out that it was the actor who dubbed Yoh's voice who sung it? Fucking amazing! Just adds another layer of awesomeness to it.

I miss the old 4kids days they really had bangers for most of their themes

You know as an adult it's hard ignoring a lot of the problems shaman king has but this OP does put a smile on my face

Well it was one of their better dubs, besides names like Zeke and Trey, and Making En Tao their uncle for some reason lol

I was hooked on this version of the anime back in 2006 when I was in middle school. It kind of bummed me that there were only 64 episodes.

Actually, it happened to most animes, except the big name franchises like Dragon Ball and One Piece. Here in Israel, we got the Japanese versions for those.

I have never, not once, ever until today, heard this opening since 2002 when I saw a handful of episodes of this show on WB on saturdays. And yet for 20 years it never totally left my brain. I’ll be doing literally anything and my head will go “SHAAAAAMAAAAAN KIIIIING” and since I haven’t officially heard it for 2 decades I’ve always added little bits and pieces to it so it’s usually 🎵yeah he’s gonna be the buttf******g SHAAAAAAMAAAAN KIIIING!🎵

Damn I forget how hard the original dub went with its opening so fitting for all the themes of the show too.

Weird...the commonly circulated TV rips have this pitched up slightly. It makes listening to the correct speed sound off...

I love this one better then the Netflix version

I'll be honest, this was one of 4Kids' better dubs. They kept many of the original Japanese names without simplifying them, and many of the more risque jokes were left in. Heck, they straight up said "jackass" in one scene. Not to mention, the voices weren't too bad (I kinda liked Len's voice, despite him a British accent while being Chinese).

i find it so confusing that they picked the very first shot of the intro to be yoh with mosuke of all spirits who not only later became morty's guardian spirit but most absurdly only did the spirit form unity with yoh like once or twice

Before I watched the 2001 Anime, I read a little bit of the First Volume of the Manga when I was in Secondary School. I plan on reading it all and finishing the 2021 Anime, but for now I'd just like to say: SHAMAN KIIIIIINNNNG! DUN-DUN-DUN!

I watched the English dub of the anime on Cartoon Network as a kid.

I really wish they'd used this for tge reboot.
