It was also one of my first few series I ever watched when I was 12 and got really into anime. I am 25 soon and rewatching this masterpiece for millionth time, always get something new out of it
This anime is truly a masterpiece. It's one of my favorite animes ever! The overall story, the characters, soundtracks, all the sacrifies made, the perfect ending, Lelouch's big brain move and his sacrifice at the ending to become the enemy to make the world a peaceful place

@@buritomaster The plot wasn't stupid, but the 2 main issues of the show are A) Everyone besides Lelouch and Schniezel are pretty braindead. B) The plot is at times really messy (first 12 episodes of R2) but when it gets into the swing of things it hits unimaginably hard. The ending is so good that most people sorta just sweep the prior problems under a rug. If those 2 main points weren't a thing I could safely give it a 10/10, but because they do I'm gonna have to drop down to 8.5-9/10

Code Geass was one of those rare anime that managed to become a huge success, without having a source material to take reference from. EDIT: I don’t want to keep repeating this, so I’ll just edit it here. A source material is where the story is adapted from, like how the One Piece anime’s source material is the manga. Death Note is NOT its source material.

But with Lelouce's geass you can get stuck in a loop where as soon as you finished the last episode your brain automatically refreshes and you forget about the story then all you left with would be an urge to watch greatest anime from scratch and then you get to enjoy every bit of it again. Like a recursive function
this song is just legendary , peace has been returned to my heart
I think the phenomenal thing about this opening is the amount of world building it establishes. Really adds a layer of depth to the entire story

@@ferny1267 well the movies are a different timeline to the one from the series . So it just depends which version you want to watch. Personally I reccomend just sticking with the series

Ever since i finished this on 2009... I have this ritual of myself... Every year, I rewatch the whole code geass series... Someday I'm gonna pass my rituals to my son/daughter to gave them a glimpse of my childhood
Watched this masterpiece of a show almost 10 years ago and I didn't know it at the time but I started with season 2. Was a bit confused at times but the show was still so good and broke me, like it did to most I assume. Then after a bit I saw that there was another season available and shortly realized that I had watched season 2 first. So I watched one, so many things made more sense and it made things more heartbreaking because I already knew what will happen , them I watched season 2 again and bam, broke again. This is one of the animes that I recommend everyone watches at least once in their life's (preferably in the correct order).
RIP Takahiro Kimura I will never forget your beautiful and iconic character design.

it doesn't look old though... like the anime itself is old sure but all of the hardwork they did with the animation and the art... it's still a masterpiece to this day. Some current animes coming out still look and are animated a lot worse than CG
