Best lyrics ever:"Life is a strange thing. Just when you think you know how to use it, it's gone." So simple, yet profound.

I always found this song to be superior to the immensely popular "Stay": the witty and insightful lyrics, the existential theme, and the nuanced music. The music video, too, is far more captivating in a subtle, mature way.

"Stay" is the best-known song from the "Hormonally Yours" album of 1992, but this is artistically and lyrically the best song from the album. Also the closing track, fittingly.

One of the most underrated songs of the 90's, without a doubt!

Saw them as support for Prince at Parkhead early 90s.

I just love this song. It reminds me of 1994. That's when I first bought their album. I prefer original piano based version but either way this song is classic from beginning to the end.

Such a stunning song, still. This song and "Goodbye Cruel World" were my favorite songs on the Hormonally Album. I swore that they were written specifically for me during those coming of age teen years. Ah, the 90's.

That guitar solo, and the lyrics, just great!

One of the best guitar solos ever, I’m serious, it makes me cry every time, and it’s positioned so beautifully and prominently inmidst the chorus. It cuts. So great.

Don't get songs like this anymore. It's more like a work of art, reaching into your soul. Love Marcella and Siobhan.

Two talented ladies in their own right, but when they're together something magical happens, no one can explain it. Gotta love Shakespears Sister.

This song is a masterpiece and the video so hauntingly beautiful. I actually like that it is lo-res like a vhs tape..so authentically 90s. Whatever happened to musicians these days..they don't make stuff like this anymore. 😖
