Shaka was terrifying but he was also an amazing warrior and strategist. He may not have been an educated man but he was super intelligent.

@@leogoddess3863 British company Revelation Films released the complete original 1986 10-part mini-series of "Shaka Zulu" on a prestine blu ray presentation, expanded to 16:9 aspect ratio (not cropped). It's region A and B compatable, so it plays perfectly in North America. I highly recommend it. Should be availible through Amazon for a reasonable price. It's beautiful, I recently watched mine.

Shaka's wars were against Nguni and other Bantu speakers, not Tuaregs, nor even the Sudanic kingdoms, the Fulani, Bornu, Sokoto, etc. Zulus are from southern Africa south of the equatorial forest belt. The Tuaregs are from the Sudan and Sahara north of it. There's a few thousand miles between them. Somebody really needs to look at a map.

At first I was confused, then I thought, this is cleverly put together, but historically a mess. Ignore the combatants, they never met in battle, but clever editing makes it amusing.

This would've been cool if they had imagined an alternative history where Zulu kept growing in power and expansion but it seems they're trying to pass this off as reality and that shit is insane. The original series might be inaccurate but it tried its best in a lot of places and deserves better than this.

The Arabs WERE defeated by the Ngoni, who were an offshoot of the Zulus who split into several factions and migrated as far north as Tanzania. In one such battle, the Ngoni charged the Arab position. The Arabs opened fire with their muskets and the Ngoni retreated. The Arabs went after them, but the retreat was a trick and there were more Ngoni laying in wait for the Arabs. Furthermore, the Arabs hadn't bothered to reload their muskets. The Ngoni who had been laying in wait then fell upon the Arabs and killed most of them. Some of the Arab leaders escaped but later committed suicide because of the "disgrace".
