Zulu warriors besides their shield carried two assegais one a long one for throwing a shorter one for stabbing along with a club known as a knobkierie. They were trained to engage the enemy in pairs.

People don’t understand that the Impi was the standard operating procedure for most of Africa. The men fought, the women looked after the households, and the children looked after the livestock. As the men were only warriors their numbers were less than those of the women so they had two or more wives. This went on for many hundreds of years creating a race of men who were fearless ,doughty warriors,as we see in the number of successful Black Boxers. The downside is that they are genetically keyed to be more aggressive and to treat women as chattels, something we in the West refuse to accept despite the evidence which is overwhelming.

On the Serengeti, and everywhere else, the survival of the fittest and the cruel un-caring natural selection process is in effect. Guns vs low grade metal ore spears happened. Yet the strong natives preserved despite the cost of way-to-many young men. Great Britain exhausted the natural resources of their island nation. They needed resources beyond their isle to survive and to feed their people. They knew what they needed to do to survive. Yet people like you want to shout …” oh how awful, dreadful and inhumane.” This was all about survival. That’s an no holds bared situation.

Hum , load of rubbish. Yes Zulu did surprise and kill many horsemen, but this was not a battle more a reconnaissance in force which was surprised and lost many horsemen, but lead to the TOTAl defeat of the Zulu’s . This was a one sided war with only one silly mistake. Ps why do you keep playing that ridiculous words from the film Zulu by a sergeant, who in reality was the complete opposite of the actor in the film

Great show. Historically all that was for Rhodes and his public school chums and Jewish merchants. Rather like we are seeing now globally.
