@@mikelparo It’s a movie about a true all female warrior group. ( True in the sense the character was a real person but that’s pretty much it) The reason why people criticize it, is because this queen was responsible for supplying an insane amount of Slaves to Europeans, and is one of the key factors for actually making the slave trade successful. ( As without her, and a couple other individuals like her that would raid villages to enslave the people to sell to Europeans there would’ve not been the man power to even pull it off) The other criticism comes from people just finding any reason to hate on things these days to the point they bring social politics into it.

I am African and Christianity is not the religion of our conquerors. My country (Ethiopia) accepted Christianity as a state religion before many European states. Jesus is the King of King’s and lord of lords and a uniting factor of all nation, no matter how wrongly his name was used to oppress others, which actually is against his teachings. People are manipulative and that is their choice.

I would say though that the African enslavement period has been a disaster for the whole of the African Diaspora, slave heritage or not. All African descendants since slavery have lived under the yoke of white supremacy. I don’t see any point in dividing blacks into slave heritage or not. As Dr . Umar Johnson said : “we ether rise together or not at all”. If any continental African or descendant hasn’t been directly targeted for heavy oppression or domination by whites, since slavery, it’s because whites had no desire to.
