Nasir Kasganjvi reciting a salam entitled "Shahadat" at Dr. Yawar Abbas's residence in 1974. Nasir sahib was born in Kasganj in 1928 and migrated to Karachi in 1949. He was primarily a poet of the ghazal and published two ghazal compilations, one compilation of nazms, one of qataat/rubaiyaat, and one of naats. He also wrote the songs for Farid Ahmad's 1967 film Jan Pehchan starring Mohammad Ali & Tarana. The songs were composed by Muslehuddin.
