I've started training and I didn't even realize how smart my rats were! They pick up tricks faster than I thought they would. They seem happier too. I think learning makes them happy

Can you train hamsters? Probably not, they aren't as smart. However I can't get a rat because they are quite expensive.

Spin, paw, or come would be some of the best first tricks to train your mice. After that, I usually train either backup, agility, or fetch.

Hansen Welder..there was a movie some years ago called Willard about a bunch of criminal rats. I think they were trained for revenge not bank robbery. Of course the rats turned on the bad guy. Must have been interesting to train so many.

Such smart animals, like dogs. We need to petition to ban Cruel Glue Traps, Posion bait in favor of catch release or birth control and staying cleaner. Also stop needless animal testing as cosmetics on them or bunnies

It is really painful that such beautiful, smart animals have such a short time on earth. I would have said: Shadow for president! She was definitely smarter than some politicians ...

All rats are very intelligent. Humans shamefully underestimate every animal but ourselves.

Shadow was adorable. The worst thing about rats is they don't live long enough. I love these brilliant pocket pets. Shadow was amazing, you could be a professional rat trainer!

@@weekbig вот тут вы не правы, крыс содержат минимум по две.(однополые).Им очень плохо без общения. Когда я этого ещё не знала, у меня жила одна крыска, так она всё время висела на краю клетки в попытках поймать меня. Грустное зрелище.Кстати, и одну крысу я не смогла научить таким трюкам. Дело во мне, видать я хреновый дрессировщик.))))

Rats are very intelligent. You have a good bond with them. You get out of relationships what you put in. You obviously put in alot of time and love to get these results.😊

This makes me miss my lovelies so much...have had 8 rats during like a 10 years span, but the last couple of years I haven’t had any since I had to move in with my dad and he’s allergic. But as soon as I get my own place I’ll get 3 of them. I miss it so much. Greetings from Sweden!

Wow. Shadow really was a unique, intelligent and special rat. I understand how hard it is to lose a rat so dear to your heart. My three rats just passed away within the last few months, all were pretty close to three years and one was a a little over three. I love your channel and enjoy watching your videos. You have great content that I can't seem to find anywhere else (like your fetch tutorial vid) I had an old channel that I did some trick videos with my late rats but I've decided to start fresh with a new channel, I think it's better that way. I will be getting a few new ratties soon, I can't stand to be ratless. Keep up the good work!

I'm so sorry about your ratties, it truly is so hard to see them go after only a few years with them. Its amazing how much you can bond with such a small creature in such a short amount of time. Shadow was the last of my first trio of rats, and she definitely inspired me to train them. She was a mischievous little rattie, but that's part of what made her so much fun to work with. One of my solaces is that she died of spontaneous natural causes that I couldn't control, and that she was content until the day she went. It's so hard for me to imagine being ratless right now, and I hope that time doesn't come anytime soon. Getting Cookie and Cream definitely helped me when I was grieving over Shadow, and they were more of a "surprise" purchase (someone posted an add for young rats on craigslist in my town, which is so rare that I had to jump on the chance). I hope you get the chance to get some ratties soon, they really are one of the best companions out there :)
