So Pshero wasn't allowed to sap to stall for cd's but a mage is allowed to poly endlessly to stall for cd's... makes sense

Same, I kind of disagree about not allowing dark rune if the Mage has unlimited polys. When it was 3 polly resets (meaning poly to drop combat eat/drink, you could still unlimited polly to immediately reopen, or as an interrupt) per duel that rule made sense... But without that cap on mages it's kinda imbalanced.

There was a limit of how many times mages can poly reset I'm not sure I think it was 5 vs priests but there was a referee with us on discord and he counts them, he didn't say stop or anything so the mage was sheeping as much as he was allowed.

Any thoughts on the priest 2.5 set for pvp? I prob won’t rank any higher than R10 but I have access to the entire set. I do want to do more disc/holy pvp than shadow so a mixed set would be cool but there’s is so much Stam for survivability. I’d appreciate the insight.

T2.5 is better than rank 10 set and just about 200 hp, 350 mana and 35 sp worse than the full rank 13 set, if you didn't rank to 13 then the t2.5 is the 2nd best option for disc or shadow, no set bonuses for shadow but the stats is all you want so it's perfect.

I main a mage now, and I've mailed a mage since Vanilla-WotLK... Being able to cast the SPELL Iceblock while SILENCED, doesn't make too much sense 😕

@Plandowin Of course Paladins can bubble out of silence, Bubble works the same way as Iceblock. If you arent school locked you can use it to remove ANYTHING.

I can make sense of it if ice is in your veins, you're alive when you're silenced and just use ur life force like a bankai type of ultimate.

Disc Healing is really fun in BG's, having 1-2 good Mele and a Hunter/mage peeling others off of you while you keep up the 4 of you and smash through groups of 6-7 feels Soo good.

legit question, does dispelling the mage shield to have SWP hurt worth it or not at all?

20% Base Mana for the hope of dispelling the shield and not a rank 1 trash buff doesn't seem worth it, but someone would need to do the math.

Danny I know these videos are old but I am re-watching them during SOM to improve my PvP. Hopefully you see this, what add on or weakaura is that showing how much your heals are going to actually heal you on your health bar?

Its what your suppose to do. I do it to mages and rogues to mess up there cc. Sometimes I'll innerfocus devouring plague myself. Heals me for the dmg taken and last longer then swp. Imo this priest is trash compared to me.

This kind of content is completely missing from classic. I used to play dark souls and for honor and both of them had a pvp scene on youtube where people explained matchups and just the general meta of pvp in those games. I assume tbc will have more of this with arena, but there's no reason there shouldn't be some of this now! Love this content!

I feel like you should've played those games near max range. I feel like all the short ranged skills is how you lost due to CoC and nova and arcane explosion. All you had in melee was fear

Well that's a good mage yes, and you are a very good shadow priest too. Was entertaining to watch you guys duel. I play amage now but just for farming gold for my other toons LOL.

I think the tiny difference between racials will change the outcome. The CDL winner is a Troll SP cmiiw? Not saying Troll is better than undead. Both have difference tools to bring to the table.

Good duels the mage played very well. I think its inportant to get the first fear asap to get wotf out of the way and that allows you to get some breathing room towards the end of the duel with 2nd fear. If 2nd fear doesnt get blocked it also allows a easy opportunity to land a nade into a mind blast.

Also I'm sure you're aware to look for nade/mortar or reflector when he blanket silences. Still played well, the difference between dueling a mediocre mage and skilled mage is night and day.

Sheep 3-4 times every duel seems cheap and ez. Limit should 3 maximum...

I used to see this absurd type of disabling on private servers, seems like it is there on official too. This much time spend in sheep not being able to anything is simply unfun. You took it amazingly. I would be furious.

In my opinion if he would play troll priest instead of undead facing mage you could get a win easier Against warlock slightly disadvantage tho But shadow guard scales ⚖️ well with spell damage can proc blackout stack up shadow weaving and heal you as well especially if VE is talented also has a low mana cost and no CD

I've spent the last 2 hours as a 63 spriest dueling a 69 frost mage. I can't tell you how maddening it is for neither of us to do anything for 3 seconds then the second I either dispel him or dot him, he gets a poly off before my gcd is finished for a fear or a silence. Also a pain in the ass that our silence is on the gcd but not mage cs. Granted the level difference hurts, but damn mages are not fun to fight.

You would've won the second one if not for his resist on nade and then another key resist. Good mage, but he couldnt of won without cheesy endless polying

good mage vs good shadow priest, always wins mage, he can just reset the duel, is pathetic and in my opinion mage is a hardcounter of shadow priest.

That's why I hate classic. Resists are so random and one resist can sometimes destroy the whole fight and make it unfair.

Why are you playing the trying to kill him way. Imo just rank 1 swp. Manaburn, if that is counterspelled > greater heal. And focus on getting fear off asap so you can use it multiple times Imo try to oom him and play like a holy priest is better then trying to kill mages. Full defensive mode, the goal is to never let them bandage and simply outlast them. I find this playstyle much harder to play against then shadow priests trying to kill me

Mana burn worked well at the start of clasic when we had 4k mana now 6k+, I was playing it all the time, need improved talent too. Idk if mana burn till oom works now but I agree on trying the slow/defensive mode. Just need to practice it and get good.

@@DannyGaminGnC The way you play is good enough to kill 99% of mages probably. But it’s a really bad playstyle vs the top 1% imo. R1 swp, Manaburns and wand until mage oom is harder to beat imo, focusing on preserving your mana and healing yourself staying alive as long as possible. GL in future and congrats on 2nd place, awesome achievement :)

@@anasameer No, at the second match, shadow priest have no enough mana in the end, the mage could go sheep shadow priest and wait for other round. Heal him self a little bit and priest will eventually Oom. Instead the mage went offensive to priest and almost lost, that is just stupid.

@@danielprovost Omg, you just so cute. If the mage have no ice block nor the spell accelerate trinket (sorry I don’t know the trinket name), mage is very hard to win against pro shadow priest. Not mention this is a R14 shadow priest in this video and totally out geared the mage. In this case Mage using sheep is probably only way to win priest, and since sheep is allowed in the tournament, therefore using sheep to exhaust priest’s mana is call smart. Or it is reasonable to think that Mage might consider this priest plays so suck and he could choose directly rush and win the match. It is shame that R14 priest got beaten like a dog by mage.
