I kinda thought what about if at the end of killing all colossus you eat the purified fruit? Will it make the game end in some different way? Will it clean the character so he doesn't become a demon afterwards??

My mind blown. I always thought that the reward wasn’t the end, but the journey itself because eating the poison fruit was pointing that philosophy out. Yet I find out that the fruit isn’t poisoned...you’re poisoned...and the fruit is healing you...W.T.F.

I like to imagine what those lands were like before they became ancient.

​@@Poison_Jam makes sense, Hidetaka Miyazaki only became a games developer BECAUSE of Ico and Shadow of the Collosus. The games blew his mind so much that he had to start making his own games, and so he went on to make Dark Souls and Bloodborne etc. And so it makes sense that his games have the same kind of feeling of a lost, ancient world, that's falling apart, and they also have an absolute ton of hidden secrets that players around the world have to collaborate together to find all of them. They also have a liking for absolutely gigantic bosses that dwarf the player character in size. What would really be amazing if one day Hidetaka Miyazaki and Fumito Ueda could one day work on a game together. That would probably end up being the best game ever made.

What a twist that'd be if it was in the game.

There are *79 relics* you can collect You get Dormin's Sword once you collected them all. The sword inflicts massive damage, but reduces the rate of Wander's Health Regeneration.

But, the place you get this secret sword is the same one that the Seekers have been theorizing as a secret door to a chamber. Which I think is an amazing tribute to their dedication by the game developers.

I really wish this remastered version came with a secret colossus, or a mode where we could fight some of the other colossi that never made it into the original game.

Kyriolexical Dino You mean the "shit" the devs finished and never added? The devs themselves wished they added a lot more to this game, they stated that. I don't understand how that would tarnish a game that people constantly want to learn more about. There's entire communities dedicated to finding a 17th colossus that probably doesn't exist. Just look how pumped older fans were about the gold coins and the new secret item it unlocks. People 100% want more. If it were optional DLC giving people what they want, it wouldn't hurt the game in anyway. Also, you got remake/remaster mixed up. The new FF7 is a remake, this isn't.

Oly1y Please, it's just the old game with updated textures. They didn't remake any controls, animations at all. It's still as clunky as the original. If devs remake a game they tend to iron out issues from the previous version. They didn't. They can say it's a remake but it doesn't meet the standards of one.

At 1:56, in the original game, in stead of going to the left you could actually climb up and stand on that spot to recover stamina, it was a hidden platafform under the bush

Im not really sure if "hidden platform" is the best way to describe it. It was unintentional and they fixed it in the Euro PAL and PS3 versions.

After 111 Colossus defeated, 47 shining lizard tails, 159 fruits, 2,610 arrows fired. I reach the gate of the Forbidden Land. Where I receive the last trophy I needed for the Plat trophy. Goodbye SotC. Thank you for all of your help @PS4Trophies.

What's the point of looking up a guide in order to get the trophy? What's the point of getting the trophies if you didn't earn them but just cheated? I don't really understand trophies in games to begin with, like if it's an actual achievement then include it in the game itself instead of outside as a playstation or steam thing that has no bearing on anything within the game world. The original version of Shadow of the Colossus for PS2 didn't need trophies/achievements to be great. No PS2 game needed them. No game at all did. I just don't understand why so many young kids like you think they're necessary for video games.

I remembered in the PS2 days, the climb up to the secret garden was way longer than this. I recalled I have to rest 3x on some flat surface just to regain my grip meter on my way to the top. I played that game like 4-5x to get max grip. My pink grip meter was like a quarter of the TV scene!LOL Oh well awesome game, fond memories. Thank you Sony and Bluepoint.

That's because you don't typically wait till a 3rd or fourth playthrough, and you don't do the big upward jumps he's doing. If you diagonal jump it conserves stamina. I did this 2nd try on my 2nd playthrough.

not entirely true. The grip meter becomes bigger and bigger but every time it does, it get's more transparent. Also..this was the exact route the original game had. And there were no flat surfaces to regain stamina.

Angra Mainyu There were not any obvious places to stand and rest but at one point you could jump and land on a part of a wall off protruding to the side- you weren't supposed to be able to stand there, it was more of a trick and if you were lucky enough to be able to stand there and be able to jump back onto the vines. There are videos I'm sure from the PS2 version wth this trick.

On the original version, there was a group of trees full of fruits in the south east with silver tailed lizards just wandering the field. I never had to start the game a second time to reach the bridge and still had plenty of stamina because of being able to farm that spot. Guessing they took the respawning out, huh?

There are 79 gold coins. They unlock a room by a boss battle, within is a sword. It was made specifically for the secret seekers. Jacob geller did a video about the decade long search for the last great secret of shadow of the colossus. Highly reccomend watching it.

Actually no need to play the game 3-4 times just explore the map and kill white tail lizards, there's one in each save shrine and tons more in the whole map

Hahah dude I felt the same way.

On ps2, you can do it on the first gameplay, you still require a lot of stamina though, so every white tailed lizards have to be eaten. The thing is, don't jump vertically, jump diagonally. It reduces the stamina consumption by a lot.

I remember in the ps2 version you could climb it with just finishing the game once and eating 10 lizards tails, and/or use the glitch were you could rest in the middle of the trip :)

Legit the biggest help on youtube, love this game and you have made it more fun just by posting these vids!

I got the platinum on the PS3 version and it was quite a challenge but I really enjoyed every single second.

There is a resting spot on the right side near the beginning that saves a whole lot of the meter. It's at a spot where it looks like you may be able to make it, just gotta power jump and you clip through a wall slightly, just enough to stay up there. I managed to get up to the top about half way through my third play through.

actually you can get into the secret garden in the 2nd playthough, use the parachute and land somewhere safe in the middle of the path to fully recover your stamina, then you'll be able to reach it on the 2nd try

I remember doing this on the original for the Playstation 3...had to beat the game once, and than get all the silver tailed lizards...was completely worth it

Collecting all the gold glowing things will grant you access to the secret door in one of the temples that lead down a long path and have a floating sword which I believe is the witches sword which is a reference to a witch from one of their previous games from 2001 and the coins are actually the 79 steps of Enlightenment by nomad for discovering all 79 little secret spots on his own behalf

Very helpful made it in a couple of tries

The resolution and draw distance is wonderful aswel as the nice art visuals.

Just before you grab the first ledge, you can parachute onto a platform and regain stamina if your a bit short!

The forbidden Garden is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen in any video game. I could just sit down in the grass, listen to the peaceful silence and wait for my end there.

I found music to help with the monotony of repeated NG+ completions. I strongly recommend listing to the full Album "Fall of Oceans" by "Silent Island", it goes perfect with virtually everything you see on screen.

Weird i remember climbing to the garden in my 1st play run on the ps2, all i needed to do was to kill a lot of lizards and to rest in some edges

Tim Harding PAL version fixed/changed some stuff including the diagonal jump trick and the unintentional resting spot. Though I think people have more lately found another resting spot further into the climb that nobody had noticed back then.

You can make the climb after about 1.5 play through if you are diligent about collecting lizards and use the ledge that is available in the first part of the climb to recover your stamina. When you use the ledge you lose altitude when you jump off and have to re-climb a portion of the wall but it is a net gain, it gives you *_just_* enough stamina to finish the climb. You need the “Cloth of Desperation” to pull this off.

I remember hearing of the secret area at the top as a kid, it was pretty much a legend and no one knew if it was real. I didn't find out until over a decade after we spoke about it in school

Beat the game 3 times and on the 4th run only beat 5 collosi and made the climb last second. I collected maybe 6 -7 lizard tails.

Forgot to say about diagonal climb and the first glitched checpoint

I know you probably know this but, if you have the parachute you can rest at one spot half way to the top, and you can do it with 2 gameplays, a couple dozen of lizards and 2 collosus killed (that's how i got there). So if you happen to have the parachute it actually makes things easier

I had done it on my ps2 after beating 10 11 colossuses and hunting half a dozen lizards. took me like 8 tries tho

How far across the screen does the health and stamina bar go? To max out my health and stamina is my final trophy, and I don't know how far I have to go to get it

That's kinda ridiculous if you think about it. All you'd have to do is open the front door but they don't let you.

My journey- Played have in normal and finished it. Played in hard mode time attack. Then normal mode time attack. Then hard mode again to finish the game in under 5.41 to get the speed demon trophy. Unfortunately Got killed by Gaius one time so missed out on that trophy about finish game without dying. Now playing it in easy mode and half way through I have enough stamina to do the climb up to secret garden

im pretty sure you can get to the top before beating the game once. you just gotta find a good amount of white tailed salamanders

When people say collect all the lizards in one run, do they mean without quitting the game at all or just in one whole playthrough of the game regardless of whether you've played it for an hour and stopped?

How did mono get all the top there without climbing with agro?

If only he knew what would happen if he collected all 79 coins

Am I the only one that wishes you had to eat all the fruit & lizard tails in order to get the trophies? Something tells me you might be able to jump over to those openings on the sides of the bridge. You might even be able to crawl up inside of them. As for the coins, I have a feeling a nice reward awaits those that find them all. lol

Guys you can do this on your 3 playthrough meaning that you have slayned 16 colossi 3 times. 16×3=48 the original number of colossi planed for the game. I just noticed that lol.

So, do you still need to collect all the lizard tails to climb on that tower? I mean, you almost run out the stamina out when you reach the top！

Kjnova Chen I have maxed stamina by taking all the 77 lizards in one run and by finishing the game 4 times (kill 64 colossus). There's not a trophy involving taking all the lizards, so you can max the stamina by taking some of the lizards and do more than 4 runs. Every colossus give you some stamina.

I know Noone will probably see this but I was wondering, what happens if you eat the posionus fruit that according to lore actually turns u back to being more human, and then somehow manage to beat the final boss? I'm just wondering since there's no trophy and that Noones said anything about trying it, that it's either impossible to win if u do that or Noone bothered trying...but apart of me ever since I found out about the secert fruit wondered if there was a secert ending Noone ever found for eating the fruit then beating the final boss...but maybe I'm just dumb 😅

When I was a kid I tried to climb the tower, but didn't get very far. I never got back to it. :(

Just out of curiosity, what happened to the white-tail lizards in this remake? Back in the PS2 version, it was possible to climb the temple in the first playthrough if you went after those lizards since eating their tails increases stamina.

There is another place where u could get “Fruit of the Land” trophy 🏆. It’s in the way to colossus number 6, in the lake there is a tree.

but bro, are you saying you need to get all lizards each time you play the game???????? Or just 3 playthroughs. Because it's one thing to get a lot of lizards, like one from each shrine, but to get all the ones in the game is a whole other undertaking. Takes way more effort.

Only one ending--or at least, that was how the PS2/PS3 version was. I can't imagine BluePoint would've added another ending. They were very careful with not changing up things too much.

Kratos 82 should’ve started on hard but yeah and after beating it you unlock mirrored worlds I would do that to for just that little extra hardness.

you don't have to start on hard, but now i would do new game + on normal and do the normal time attack first, after that save and quit and then new game + hard and do time attack again, then you got all items and can do hard with ease if you whant all trophys

In colossus, I got 20 trophies, but defeating all the monsters and whatever else

So i'm guessing this game doesn't have the magical Diagonal Jump Bug of the original. How sad

Do You Have To Eat Any Fruit Or Lizard Tails To Max Out Your Health And Stamina?!? Or can you just do ng+ and kill the first colossus repeatedly?!? I feel like everyone is still speculating at this point. And the game has been out long enough to know for sure.

Okay , so I finally got this. You do have to eat fruit. You cant get it on defeating collossi alone. I only ate around 40, but you do have to eat some, and fewer than 20 silver tails.

It would have been terrifying if you stood too long in the secret garden, all of a sudden a cutscene would appear, and Pholux(Devil) would appear on the stage. Along with his own statue.
