I just wanted to let Rae know that she is not alone in her love of Cats Don't Dance, and thank her for letting me know that I'm not the only person who's seen it. It was one of my absolute favorites as a kid, and I actually still own it on DVD.

@Mel C If it was actually successful, we probably would’ve gotten a terrible TV show or sequel.

The teacher actually made us watch this movie in Biology. I was super surprised they got Chris Rock and Bill Murray in it, and that Chris Rock was actually in this BEFORE Madagascar. Definitely agree on the whole COVID thing. If Bill Murray didn’t look that young in it, I would have assumed it was intended as a satire of the whole thing.

I sorta want a shitshow of back in action. I remember reading an interview of Brendan Fraser that he did this movie because he got to punch a caricature of himself at the end and he found it cathartic due to all the shit he was going through at the time. It made me really sad. I actually enjoyed this one. The only one I didn't watch was cats don't dance. I only saw the trailer over and over in another wb vhs or dvd. Quest for Camelot, I watched so many times as a kid. I watched it recently and it's really boring. The story is sorta dumb? Man... Osmosis Jones, the only thing I remember is the zit scene. That was a scarring moment.

I loved this film as a child. The cartoon element was well done IMO

I also love Cats Don't Dance. That movie is a masterpiece. There's a whole generation of us that were too young to choose what movies we went to go see in theaters when it came out, but our parents got the bargain bin VHS tape and we wore that movie out. It has a following as big as the amount of money it lost lol

I just watched this thw other day with my wife and we literally thought "this movie must have went through hell" so I'm really glad I found this.

"Bugs would never do that" if only he knew that 20 years later you would have a full on 3D render of Porky Pig rapping his life out in the sequel of Space Jam. poor guy must be rolling on his grave right now can't blame him tbh that was hot garbo

I can't remember what channel it was on but this used to be on cable all the time. Considering how hard it bombed that makes a lot of sense now. I never found it funny as a kid but now I totally have to rewatch it for the puns and nostalgia.

My favorite part of this is that both Animation Directors Tom Sito's and Piet Kroon's names are mispronounced. Love it! Thanks for the funny podcast!

I love Quest for Camelot. Though for the admittedly wrong reasons. In the german dub they, somehow, got Nena for Kayley's and Hartmut Engler (singer of Pur) for Garret's singing, and as songs are a big part of the Movie they made it so much better. And I love how Devon and Cornwall (alias Feuer & Flamme in "my" version) figure out to do dragon stuff correctly. When they then just completely style on Ruber's Griffon that's so satisfying.

Ngl I actually liked the TV show they made after the film called Ozzy and Drix

I was about ten when I watched this in theatre. I loved it so much. I need to rewatch it as an almost 33 year old.

This NEEDS to be rediscovered by new generations of fans! Scott Bakula & Jasmine Guy singing! That wonderful little penguin!!!! Find it and watch it with friends! :)

I watched the Ozzy & Drix cartoon after school. Didn't know it was a spin-off from a film until about 10 years later. Still haven't seen it.

We watched osmosis jones at least once a year in science class and/or health class when a teacher was out of the class.

I got this movie on vhs from the library as a kid and loved it! I rewound it many times to watch the 3 second fart joke when the car crashes into a gland inside frank and you hear a fart sound.

Rea, you are not alone. I adore Cats Don't Dance! I own it and have watched it as recently as last year. Big and Loud is a banger!

Lying about Michael Jordan for Back in Action is absolutely amazing considering the amount of money being lost with every film

Over a year late on listening to this, but I feel the need to report that there is in fact an episode of the animated Jackie Chan adventures series where Jackie goes to space! Unfortunately calling it Space Chan doesn't work as well in context, they did land on the almost-as-good title of 'Shanghai Moon'

The tv show (which was purely animated) came out when I was a kid so I saw that years before I saw the movie and the movie seemed weird to me since I was used to the tv show

Meanwhile, I loved this film (my dad even used to play it for his students on standardized testing days) & had no clue there was a show until recently.

It’s hard to say if the movie remained PG-13 there’s really no saying it would be a success due to gross out humor.

This movie came out in 2001. All of those major outbreaks happened after that: Bird Flu circa 2014, N1H1 2009, and MRSA data wasn’t really compiled until 2003. This movie was definitely ahead of its time
