I agree, they really did Hudson dirty. I think that because the other three were from more of a comedy background and Winston was supposed to be the "everyman" character that the average audience member could live vicariously through while watching the movie he didn't receive the credit he truly deserved in his role as a Ghostbuster.

I think the possessed Ecto was a cut plot point of GB2. That’s why they had that odd scene of Venkman and Spengler’s reaction of driving through New York like “WTF is going on” during a montage? Might have also been Ray being possessed more with Vigo…

I read a rumor that Bill Murray was at first hesitant about doing this movie, and he was trying to get The Razor's Edge made and made a deal that if he was going to do Ghostbusters, the Columbia pictures would make Razor's Edge. 28:00 Yes, Tully is one of the best characters, i also read that John Candy referred Rick after turning the spot down. Tully's lines are some of the funniest in Ghostbusters 1 and 2. The court room scene in 2 is the best

Favorite Lewis Tully line in the 1st, Tully-"felt great. " Egon-"We're going to need a sample of your brain tissue." Tully-"ok". in the 2nd one, "I don't think it's fair to call my clients frauds. yeah, so the black out was a big problem for everybody ok. I was stuck in an elevator for 2 hours. But i don't blame them because one time i turned into a dog and they helped me."

Also, most chemicals you can literally order from chemical manufacturers. There is very little regulation on MOST things, and they are surprisingly cheap. Turns out there are a lot of very reasonable uses for things, so that is why they are accessible. (Acids for cleaning and construction work, etc)

I think maybe they exaggerated all the Bill Murray stuff. I mean an actor who refuses to sign contract and they didn't know if he was even gonna show up and then he would just leave if he wasn't feeling it. This was the 80's not the stone age. There is no way anyone would get away with that behavior. Even Brando killed his own career behaving like douche like that.

As the comments are turned off on "Sequel Toxicity" the remake of GB '16 ... I'm circumventing that ban on critiquing the video and the film. I watched the film. I hated it, and not for the implied rationale of... ANYONE who criticizes or doesn't like the film. Can mean one thing, and one thing only. They're rapacious misogynist. It definitely couldn't mean it was a bad film. It had all women in it. So, of course, that automatically makes it a good film by default. The casting itself was a pandering stunt meant to take advantage of the current cultural zeitgeist. Then, to suggest that because many of the cast are on SNL, curries some sort of osmotic credibility and comedic quality. SNL hasn't been funny for decades. Honest critiques, such as the film, lacked focus, was a shit show of exposition dumps, prat-falls, and slapstick. That were boring and overused. I like MM in some things, this wasn't her finest work. The protonpack scene exemplifies it ... 'I think it's compressing my spinal column' is NOT a funny line. It took that movie 10 times as long as the original to demonstrate and inform the audience of the power of the proton packs, pack. Say otherwise, and you're slapped with the label of misogynist. There were so many plot holes a truck could drive through em. The fe2 male supporting characters were either insane or dumb as rocks. The 1st film didn't punch down at the female characters. Annie Potts character was essential to how the company ran. She was smart, strong and capable. Same with SW' Dana Barrett. What those who point out that the different receptions between '16 and Afterlife as evidence of misogyny, forget that the lead character is a teenage girl. Not trying to hard to be funny, and missing the mark. Wouldn't misogynist cfitkcize that film, or any other female led films that's arebhits? Misogynist don't pick and chose. Just admit it was a bad film, and all feme lex casts can make bad films, and good ones. Just pointing out the failures doesn't m3an you hate women.

@ItWasAShtShow I got the overarching theme of the video. I was taking umbrage at the reboot's sacrosanct status. Where any criticism leveled at it is immediately pilloried as a misogynist screed. Even valid criticism. Are there Dbags out there that are, well ... Dbags? Yes. It's the fact that you better praise the film, or you're a misogynist. I wanted it to be good. For any parts that i thought were good, I credit Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones. Melissa McCarthy's just MM, in everything she does. She was great in "This is 40? ..." after a bit, it's just the same character. Has nothing to do with her being a woman, or women can't be funny. I've never been a fan of Kristen Wiig. There I said it. She, too, plays the same character, over and over. The subtext that comes across in the video seems to reinforce the narrative. That, that sort of criticism, is verboten. What LJ went through is abhorrent, but it doesn't make a critique. Somehow, antiwoman

This comment is in response to your video on 2016's Ghosbusters Answer the Call video. I know you're gonna find this hard to believe, but I'm a liberal, non-sexist, non-troll, non-whatever else you wanna blame for the terrible movie that was 2016's Ghostbusters. The real reason why that movie was panned by just about everyone was because it sucked. It wasn't funny, it didn't improve upon anything in the Ghostbuster's universe, and worst of all it wasn't necessary. It was the EXACT same story of the first film, but with unfunny jokes, pointless yelling, and a cast that did not reflect at all on who the original Ghostbusters were. If, as you say, it was just because people were sexist and didn't want females to play the roles then why was Ghostbusters Afterlife not treated the same way? Wasn't the main character in that film a female? Hmm... See, the difference between Ghostbusters Answer the Call and Ghostbusters Afterlife comes down to one thing, writing. Afterlife actually had fresh ideas, funny bits, and a cast that wasn't screaming every scene for "comedy". In Afterlife the Ghostbusters pass the torch through plot devices and character development. In Answer the Call there is none of that, they simply drop the viewer into a universe where the Ghostbusters are these four people who didn't earn the title, had no connection to the legacy, and honestly had nothing of value to bring to the franchise since they literally did everything the first movie did but with the genders reversed for everything. That is not a compelling movie, and it shouldn't be held up as such behind a shield of "oh, youre just being sexist". It was simply lazy writing, period. Did the cast deserve the vitriol that the right-wing gave it online? No. But to say that that's the reason it was panned is stretching the truth to fit a narrative. The same thing happened to the last three Star Wars films. "What if Skywalker was a female" while giving us the exact same plot from episode 4, giving us the same villain in Kylo as we had in Vader, and even making the final villain the same exact person from episode 6 (Palpatine). It was bad writing, they served us reheated leftovers for both franchises and THAT is why neither of them had the same success as the originals, keyword being "original". So in closing, all I can say is that when it comes to 2016's Ghostbusters Answer The Call, it's best to let it go Straight To Voicemail. Signed, a lifelong Ghostbusters fan

I appreciate your response but your entire comment is based on you misinterpreting something from the video. I never say that only sexist trolls hated the movie. @@ItWasAShtShow Ah, I misinterpreted what you were going for then. I did watch the entirety of the video, and I came away from it with the feelings that I stated above. I guess I was expecting you to judge the film based on its merits (or in my opinion the lack thereof) and not on the controversy of the hate it recieved prior to its release as I believe that even if the online trolls had not attacked this movie it would have still been a stain on the franchise as a whole. Let me be clear, I in no way approve of the hate that it recieved in reguards to sexism and racism, but even with that aside the movie was not well recieved by fans of the series. Franchises like Alien, Hunger Games, and Resident Evil prove that the issue isnt female leads with the average fan base as they were all successful, but comes down to bad writing and the replacement of established legacy characters being "misrepresented". Anyway, I appreciate your feedback and consideration to allow me to be heard, keep up the good work!

@@thunderkb2132 Its important to understand that we don't make film reviews. We tell film history or documentaries. The videos aren't about what made the film itself good or bad, but what made it difficult to make. In this case, a rising hate group that hated the film simply for being announced (insert Trump clip here). I do however, relay the general opinion of the film, and in all the sane critical opinions, it was an ok movie.
