What Matt said about Yuji Naka not trusting Americans actually has some basis, during Sonic 2's development in the US the American staff were pretty much cut because Naka thought they were lazy and useless.

Hell during Sonic 3's development Naka basically sent off the American branch of the SEGA Technical Institute (aside from Howard Drossin since he was doing the music) to fuck off and work on Sonic Spinball while he and the Japanese branch did all the important work.

Richard Jacques did Everybody Jump Around for Jet Set Radio, the remix to Let Mom Sleep for Jet Set Radio Future, and contributed remixes for Sonic Generations.

The game was ported in seven weeks, during development of the Genesis version. The Sonic 2 inspired special stage was made solely by Sonic Team instead of Traveller Tales.

Uh, the genesis version of Sonic 3D Blast came out in November 1, while the Saturn version came out on November 30, so no, both ports did NOT come out on the same day. However, the fucked up thing is that the Saturn version is very rare, whereas the Genesis version were on both the Mega Collection and Ultimate Genesis Collection, and even got a fucking release on Wii's VC!

4n1ck2cali95 3 years late in replying to this, but no, you’re wrong too. The Genesis version came out on November 12th, 1996 in the US, the Saturn version’s US release was on November *21st*, 1996. 9 days after the Genesis version. So while you are right that both versions did not come out on the same day, they certainly did not come out on the dates you gave.

I know I'm a part late for saying this, but I think that the special stages here are honestly the best in the series, for me at least. They're different, but familiar, and are pretty fun to go through.

My little sister was born when the game was released. This is a horrible birthday present for her.

I've never noticed how the color schemes effects in the Rusty Ruin world in this version look so fucking amazing!

I didn't know that until I watched Clement's let's play of 3D Blast. At first I thought it was just a normal shield like the ones from Sonic 1 and 2.

I'll be honest, the weather effect is neat, but I can't see the stage as well with that damn fog. I'll take the contrasting tiles over being hindered by what's supposed to be a graphical upgrade. Also, happy birthday, Elliot.

Fun Fact: Did you know that the blue shields in this game are actually electric shields? You wouldn't know that just by looking at them because the only electricity hazard in the game is in like gene gadget and puppet panic I think. It's kind of like how the electric shield in Sonic 3 can save you from most electric hazards, but the only electric hazards are in the Death Egg...

ive been using headphones for your past couple lp's. The quality of your guys voices is fine. The main problem is that, except for john, Elliot and Matt have an echo to their voices, Matt having an extreme echo at times (it sounds like he's talking in an empty room). I don't know if this is just their mics or just how they are talking into the mic. I've noticed that i've heard that echo before in other lps, but maybe its because of the clearer quality that its more apparent. it might just be me

If I had to play 3D Blast, it would be on the Genesis/Mega Drive. It's the fog in Rusty Ruin that's throwing me away from the Saturn.

There’s a rom hack for the Genesis version of this game that implements super sonic and removes the flickies from the levels. You should try it out. It’s called super sonic in sonic 3D blast.

I've only really ever grown up with the Mega Drive/Genesis version and quite frankly, I'm really enjoying this version of it so far seeing as though this is my first time actually seeing any Saturn game-play. However, something that I'm not too fond of are the weather changes. While they are nice, they honestly hurt my eyes in the sense that I'll have to look really hard to see things when it's raining, but as soon as it clears up, everything becomes clear so rapidly that it's kind of irritating
