SGB Play: Sonic Spinball - Part 1
Ойындар
Pinball?! Well, I guess it was only a matter of time, but at least Sonic's back in the scene. Dr. Robotnik has created the Veg-O-Fortress and is once again turning animals into his robot slaves. Sonic must manipulate his way past 4 Pinball tables and stop Dr. Robotnik from...well, I'm not sure, but it can't be good. It's pinball. It's Sonic. It's Sonic Spinball!
Episode 1: Lady Luck, guide me..
Starting off our adventure is Toxic Caves; where death waits for those unlucky enough to miss the goddamn safety barrel.

We're not doing Sonic Generations for a LONG time.

Beyond agreeing with Matt on the luck factor, is there any other reason that turns you off from the concept?
Working on it. :)
MY EARSSSSS
"Hears SEGA" Shit, shit, old SGB video, shit, **MEGA EARRAPE** *_AUGGHHHHHH_*
YES! Looking forward to this, I couldn't ever finish the 3rd stage of this game as a kid, excited to see it completed by you :)!!
Oh god, just wait till Johnny plays the last level. Even Clement was pulling his hair out.

Don’t even get me started! That level was a fucking nightmare!
I remember this game from my childhood. I also remember the nightmares I got from the bosses in this game.
Glad the Terry Bogard reference was made. And I'm not the only one who thought that when it would show up.
There was an episode of AoStH based DIRECTLY off this game. Even used the name Veg-O-Fortress. In SatAM, just a random pinball trap.

I like the SatAM one.
Johnny: If you keep mention the fact that I'm fucking looping, I'm gonna punch you in the fucking face A few seconds later Me: So Johnny, you seem to be looping quite a bit. Round and round we go, in one hole and out the other, looping non stop. Just round and round in circles we go
I like sonic's expressions. When he is in a barrel, he holds his nose, making him a much more likable character
Nice to see you guys playing Sonic spinball it was my first sonic game aswell well for the Megadrive (Genesis) though i Was fortunate enough to get Sonic 1 and 2 the Day after :)
nice, was waiting for a playthrough of this
I do like how you can see who's playing the game by looking at the first video. nice touch Johnny
Guess it's a good thing Scott the Woz doesn't watch SGB, he'd be horrified to realize Sonic Spinball exists
My childhood but only on the title the opening and the first level
I owned this game as a kid. The mental damage never went away.
so played this in a colletion for PS2 still never forgot the music which is awsome
This is one of those games that it feels like a chore to play.
John's "rising jackpotu" had me loling for a while there XD
I do love how the game asks 'How about a ride?'. They knew... THEY FUCKING KNEW! (Roller Coaster fans will know what I mean)
Sonic spinball:The game that trolls you
"This is where we edit." Oh really? I love this game. :D One of the few who do.
I got an old spice commercial when the video was over. :D Today is a good day.
I loved playing this game. I sucked major ass at it, but I loved playing it.
I beat this game so many times, and i love it :)
Toxic caves a banger bro.
I came really close to beating this game when I was younger, but I just couldn't do it....
When I was in grade 5, there was a pinball machine in my class' homeroom, and I was the best in the class at it, rivaling me for that title was a guy named William Hayes, but his high scores never stayed on that for more than a few days, but mine would normally stay for a few weeks, and my class would sometimes call me "the pinball wizard". I wonder if I'm still as good at pinball.
Sonic 2 was the first sonic game i played, loved it, and sonic spinball was the first game i owned i got it with a Genesis and eternal champions And another game or two, ahhh memories
I only beat Toxic Caves as a kid but then when I got older and went back to play it I managed to beat the game, the trick is to work with the D-pad.
Wanna know something funny? Back in my childhood, I thought the intro was a demo reel for some kind of bonus stage. And I tried finding it, only to be thwarted by the caves, again and again.
This game isn't all bad, sure some people hate it, but i actually love this game. The nostalgia flows back in!

I enjoyed the bonus stages to
miss playing this game T~T
This was my first Sonic game too. Didn't get Sonic the hedgehog 1 until I got the mega collection on the gamecube.
Johnny: here is where we edit.... Me: *Waits for editing* 1min later... Johnny: And we are back! Me: Y'all never left.
I'm guessing that John had no need to edit that bit out 'cause he really didn't have trouble getting back to the boss room.
The first level has one of my favorite Sonic tracks in the whole series.

The last level has 1 of my favorite Sonic tracks in the whole series
Funny how people say Sally Is not part of the Sonic Team but yet here she is Lawl
Yes there was but it was in the SATam series if your wondering what the episode was it's called. 'Gameguy' Season 2 Episode 1 if I remember correctly.
I like how freed the SatAM characters first
tbh this game scared me when i was young -_-
This game is pretty fun.
CD's on the gems collection.
And this is the one Sonic port on iOS that ol' Whitehead isn't bothering to update...
I know the SATam series by heart, so I remember that episode.
The trick to Sonic Spinball is to NOT play it like a standard pinball game. Instead, try to catch and hold Sonic with the flippers and then launch him precisely while he's slowly rolling down the length of the flipper. It takes some getting used to, but once you do it becomes pretty easy to get him where you need him to go.
Wonder if that Fist Attack is done charging... (I'm so gonna write that down and say that about 5 years from now)
I remember this game from the Mega Collection....I also remember never playing it again after the first level...-_-
Its like Sonic 06, You cant get him to go where you need him to go, except there is no trick to get him to obey, and its impossible to get used to :3
sonic:*jumps into water*OH GOD WHYED I DO THAT*drowns*
8:45 johnny and game:aaaaaahhh!
I actually really like this game. The grudgy appearance of the levels are pretty darn interesting. I had hoped we'd get Sonic levels using these visuals in some way. To note, the characters in the bonus are Sally, Bunnie, Rotor, Tails, Wocky, Flicky and... Muttski for some reason.
i love this game me and my dad played this for hours :D
"Out of all the spin-offs, this one was probably the most well received." Hahahahahaha. NO.
A hardcore gamer is usually someone who would spend HOURS to beat. By that I mean when a hardcore gamer plays a video game (or games), they would be playing for hours.
*Twenty seconds in* Me: What!? Game over already!?
i just finished watching the other playthrough
1:08. I had that glitch happen to me when I was 6 or 7 when I played this game
I'm oddly happy about that, actually.
The options theme is actually my favorite song in the game... Does that mean I'm broken?
I think this game was too much chaotix. I never knew what the hell to do to pass the first level.
i play this game quite a bit
So this is on the Sonic Mega Collection.
Wasn't there an episode of Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog that was based off this?
I had no clue who the hell Bunny Rabot or Roder were until the Nostalgia Critic review. I already knew who Sally May was though.
I watched in 480p "SEGA!" Hey! What're you doing in my TV? Oh wait...
“sAYYYYY-GAAuuuuuh.”
Apparently The guy Who Composed The Lava Powerhouse Music Went On To Become Co-Chairman Of The Board Of Music In Schools I Think
i use to have this game.
23 seconds of gameplay before the first glitch. Wow.
Random puppy dog, my personal favorite freedom fighter.... I know monkey is a fan favorite, but whatever.
this is the first time i saw the boss
The last time I played Spinball, it took me a half hour to beat Toxic Caves. Lady Luck really wasn't on my side. :/
Ho-oh used sacred fire
My first Sonic game was Sonic the Hedgehog 2 for the Sega Master System
Sega! I wish to hear it's return in Sonic games.
god this game it took me forever i had lost of spare time at the time took me like 5 hours in total
Will you also be doing the sonic cd port ?? :)
I never had any form of trouble with this game at all. It was actually quite easy.
Ha! Spin-Offs. Unintential puns. But, god, the next level can go screw itself. O-o
Cool
This was posted on my 18th birthday! :D
I have this game on my Genesis and I've never made it past the first level.
ADVENTURES OF SONIC THE HEDGEHOG!
the hd version? he already did
Well, this was unexpected..
That was strike three at the near end of the boss! I do not think people want to be around you with kids!
Why'd you go back to the Title Screen?
*Realizes Johnny is stalking the comments* Well I have you, when are you reviewing Sonic Generations 3DS? Been waiting on that for a bit xD
first sonic game i owned was... Sonic mega collection. Now first sonic game i owned on the GENESIS... Sonic 1, Sonic 2, and Sonic Spinball.
lol I literally said "and all around" at the same time Matt did.
Matt is doing it, but on the SNES, he likes the music quality on the SNES better.
I've only completed this game 1 time without even using the level skip code
Man, I have the game gear version, and by that I mean I have the Sonic Adventure DX mini game.
Maybe he'll do Generations when it's old enough to be a classic Sonic game, like Sonic 4 Episode 3 XD
Johnny you are looping...
No, Spinball is much easier to control than Sonic '06 was.
I could never get past the first level in this game.
Because he tought he would take forever to get back up there but in actuality he did not so hence why he did not edited that.
