That reminds me of Creed and Ryan from “The Office”. They treated Creed with leniency even though he did a lot of serious crimes that no one knew of until the end of the series, and is somewhat rumored to be the Scranton Strangler alongside Toby. Meanwhile, everybody treats Ryan super harshly because he most likely embezzled funds from corporate and was mean to his coworkers, which, even though was very wrong, is less of a bad thing.

Wayne Harris my own grandfather used to say disgusting shit to me all the time when I was like 15, to the point were his own son (my dad) had to threaten him to leave me alone. he would give me like $100 when I visited and would make comments about my body and tell me to sit on his lap and then try to get me to drink his whiskey etc. but I always brushed it off because he's old and idk girls are basically taught that all old men are just allowed to be creeps lol.

cherry c. No you brushed it off because he was your grandfather and you were too young to understand how wrong that was nor were you really in any position to do anything about it. Your father handled it so hopefully that’s all in the past but this whole movement is about not accepting men’s creepy behavior in the workplace. Older men do generally get a pass because they’re old and seen as non threatening but if someone in your family is making weird comments about your body then that’s a whole different issue

20 years ago I worked in an office where this 50-ish year old, 500 pound female secretary, who was very secure in her position because of her family connections, would literally do a two hand grab of the buns of a young (married) male professional every time he walked by. It was so common she came to expect it like a toll for walking by her office, and it had happened enough that he would reluctantly turn around and get it over with so she would stop harassing him. Where is his movement?

Yes but Doug never (from the lines anyway) never hinted at "you know what you could do to get a promotion ;)" The closest was the smile suggestion which is true like it or not. Its been proven that people who smile more (male or female) are generally more liked. He wasn't leading to smile more and then get sexual and then you get a promotion. Basically... people are waaaaaay too sensitive. I have absolutely no tolerance whatsoever for someone abusing their power for sexual favors. But come on... everyone has said dumb things. Its okay if it bothers you but just explain it like an adult and generally they apologize and move on. Ruining someone's career over Doug's comments is unacceptable. Its really sad how in american culture instead of being an adult and confronting someone we go straight to the authorities whether its HR or the police. Like noise complaints for example. Most people will just call the cops and not even walk over and say "hey man I hate to poop on your party but I can't sleep with the music this loud and its every night. Can you keep it down a little please?" Sure some assholes will just turn it up louder and then police are the logical next step. But some will be like "oh im sorry my bad dude" and you are still on good terms and have mutual respect. Go straight to the authorities for minor things and you have no backbone and deserve no respect in my book

@@foggylenses91 Well I thought this comic video was implying ruined career. You are correct it doesn't always happen that way and ruined is very relative. Some would consider it being homeless, some would consider it having to live in a cheap apartment with the lowly people so to speak. But even on a lower level, it can be very serious. Hiring companies often don't really care about the context or validity of claims. If word gets out, your career is going to enter troubling times. I've run into this because of something minor on my record (not sexual or anything) and they don't even ask about the details or context. Small businesses care less. Corporations have an "image" and a "culture" and a stuck up HR department that does care.

The guilty? The key word word in sexual harassment is harassment not sexual. Harassment is unwanted. If it’s not unwanted, then it is just called flirting. +M Howard _Unfortunately the line between flirting and harassment is fuzzy_ You're right. That's because it's based on the exact SAME action. Essentially there IS no 'line'. That person CAN'T know if the other person will perceive the action as flirtation or harassment. (CEO in skit: "I know NOW that my actions were inappropriate, etc... and now I know better") .... BULLSHIT... because the SAME interaction (with a different individual) MAY have had a _positive_ outcome. _So it makes it easier for large companies to have zero tolerance policies to free themselves of liability._ This is really the sad part. If you've lived long enough to see the change in our human interaction, societal norms, & general behavior from before and _after_ the 'internet', this trend (culture shift) should SHOCK you sensibilities. Now, we are just _Tools_ in the eyes of the stock holders.... and simply being _Human,_ is a liability.

Like I sat in at a table in English where I was the only guy, the guy subbed and was walking around the room as we worked. He gets to my table, taps me on the shoulder, gestures to all the girls and says “is this your little harem?”. The girls laughed, and when I told the story my friend laughed. I feel like that’s a weird thing to say about a group of high schoolers.

Malevolence is a fact of life. We all have problems, some worse than others. We *all* "sin." Shaming people publicly, regardless of the severity of their infraction will *do no good* Choosing to punish people based on their position in society vs. their actual infraction will *do no good* When Aziz Ansari and James Franco are discussed in the same light as Bill Cosby and Larry Nasser it *does no good* In fact, the comparison desensitizes us to the severity of the latter crimes. Abusers and rapists should be punished severely. Our society has failed in many cases to do that. But if we over-correct and criminalize male sexual initiative it will be...... somewhat destabilizing Thank you, SNL, for using humor to highlight some of the nuances of this issue.

I got a 70 year old uncle that makes the same comments about women. It just so happens that we're at church when he does it.

"You signed out the company van, reported it stolen, and it was found three days later outside of a brothel with your keys still in the ignition and your brother asleep at the...in the front wheel." "What! Clarence was still in there??" Kenan is too sharp.

i think this kinda shows how we often turn a blind eye to some people when we wouldnt let it slide with other people. It's more a thing if the past than it is now, but it still happens. Like with a lot of these hollywood scandals, a lot of people knew about them for years but only did something when the public got wind of it. But sometimes even the public knows of it, and still we turn a blind eye. Like when R kelly married Aaliyah.

Mandy C. I really wonder if this was in a disrespectful way and apparently R Kelly was the one who wrote that song or influenced it.
