I just love your channel. Everybody that sews will have a mistake or two on our journey. Just want to say thanks for posting.

Aww thanks Sheila!💕
On the green jacket, sew an extension placket on the front edge. Use the decorative stitching down the front. Make it yours!
Ah, yes! The old scorched clothing item. Been there, done that! When I worked in a fabric store waaaa-aaaay back when, I bought some poly to make a nice work blouse. During the course of making it, I ever so slightly scorched my blouse. Other people probably wouldn't have noticed, but I sure did. Wore it several times before it hung in my closet for months before going to Goodwill. Even though I worked in a fabric store, I'd never heard about a pressing cloth until 5 or so years ago. (I hadn't done a lot of sewing during the years in between.) Until watching this video I didn't realize how easily poly can scorch, even when using the proper iron setting. Yes, pressing clothes are necessary!
I think I like #2 for a coat. By the way, as we are on vacation, I missed the anti-you post. Do not waste your time on people like that! You are delightful, generous, funny and always a joy to watch. You inspire me at least. We are meant to cheer each other on, never put each other down. I really believe it is our task to be kind, or say nothing.

I really like the second fabric for the coat. Your hair looks extra "bouncin' and behavin'" today!
Hi, Viv, I like all of the fabrics, so it really depends on what you want to wear it with. The mauve was my favourite, but only to wear over something darker. The black sparkly one would be good for evening and the purple was a lovely rich colour you could wear anytime. If you like the finished article - make them all!! Can’t wait to see the end result! Kind regards from Penny in Liverpool 🇬🇧😊💕
Hi Viv - I like the purple for a long jacket. Looks soft and cozy. Add nice buttons and you’ve got a great jacket. On the green shirt, you can wear a tank or cami under it and maybe button the lowest button or not. Whatever you choose for the jacket will look wonderful. All of them are nice choices. 🧵Happy Sewing! 😃
I love the fact that you showed some failures. I thought I was the only one. Now I have a gained confidence, to try again. Thank you for your wonderful videos.

Call those designer details.
I like the last one you showed, the purple.Would be very nice with a contrasting top stitch. Can’t wait to see the final product.Good luck girl.
Love the purple for the jacket. 😍
I vote for the purple fabric for the coat. I like your hair style you looked so cute. Real bummer when you spend all that time and it doesn’t fit wears a tank top under it and leave it open. Good luck on your sewing this weekend.
The purple looks great, but any of them would look good. Will be excited to see how it turns out! I'm a quilter, but your videos inspire me to get back to making some clothes!!
I like the blue jumpsuit. But there are several tops and dresses I also like.
I like the purple for the coat, it looks warmer and stands out more...a little different. Enjoy your makes, we enjoy watching you and hearing about how you made them.
Purple for sure. You can dress it up or down and use interesting buttons or maybe other embellishments.
I think the purple would be lovely on you!
I like the purple!!!!! Very pretty!
Viv!!!! We have got to get you on board with making your own binding. Leftover fabric, fat quarters, you name it. You’ll get a little fun surprise every time you look inside your garment. Dress looks great! 😘
The purple soft flannel-ish velour will be wonderful for those cold winter months.
I like the purple for the jacket. This color is hot for the next months
Hi Vivian, always a pleasure to watch you, just to say that the silvercrest machine for beginners is a wonderful quality sewing machine for a first purchase, known in France, see positive reviewers about it, and their sewing thread etc, a bargain also, thanks !!! have a nice day, bisous, Sylvie
The honey blonde hair is pretty cute btw.
Purple for sure IMHO
I think the purple one would made a very nice jacket.
Loved all the fabrics- thought the purple would be great for Fall. Ironically your sewing mishaps give me confidence, lol. I’m always thinking everyone does everything perfectly. 🧵👍🏻
I would pick the purple for the long jacket and the sparkle for the short jacket

Like the black white sparkle. Love the roses
I love your channel and the content you provide.I'm sorry that the negative comments can take up precious space in our heads no matter how many positive comments we receive. Please don't stop doing what you are doing. I have learned so much from your channel and get excited when a I receive a new notification on my phone. 🤗 Be blessed!
The purple would be very nice!
I love the mauve burnt out fabric for the jacket. That would look so stylish. Happy sewing☺
I’m so glad to know that other sewers will try just about anything to make a garment work. I’m not the only one! The buttonholes are soooo funny! Yep, I would have done the same thing. Keep being real, it’s so refreshing!
Oh it has to be the Sparkly one 🌟 or if too impossible to sew the purple one! Love the hair, looking very sophisticated today. No sewing for me this weekend as visitors. Don’t forget to show us the children’s clothes 😊. Thanks for your update 👏🏼x
I love the purple fabric for the jacket
Black and white sparkle gets my vote. It will go with everything.
The purple looks best on you.
The velour is gorgeous!
Great video! The burn-out fabric would look so chic in the long version, so I vote for the first one. ..... I am a caregiver for my father. Your videos provide a respite for me. Thank you.
I enjoy watching your videos so much! It is encouraging me to sew again! I love love love sewing so much, and have let it slide to the bottom of my "gotta do" list. I feel as if we're good friends, because of your lovely, laid back, fun, personality! Keep doing what your doing!

Hi Denise! I love this note, thank you! I understand about sewing falling to the bottom of “the list.” Women have a LOT on their plates. I have the luxury of time to sew now, but I also realize that could change in a blink. Whatever you can manage will be great because a little sewing & creating goes a long way. All sorts of health benefits, yay!!👏👏 I’m glad you’re here. Wish we could have a cup of coffee and then sew. Like, ALL of us!! Wouldn’t that be splendid? It makes for happy daydreaming.😄Thanks again for writing!

@@vivmomsews4962 The belly dance class I teach, resumes this week, so I WILL be getting the sewing area straighten up, this weekend, to sew. I am a part of two troupes, so we have many costumes we need, all sewn by ourselves.
Hi Viv! I vote for the black and white sparkle. Would look very classy. Thanks for deciding to keep making videos. Love them and you! 💜🌹
Viv, I like the purple fabric for your jacket. I appreciate that you talk about your problems with sewing such as the scorching and the top not fitting. This makes me realize that I am not a bad garment sewer but I would say I am average. Thanks for your great videos.
Purple! Love the black and white sparkly. Cute form fitting dress or jumper with silky shirt. Classy casual!!
Just want to say thanks for being human when you sew! Love the purple for the longer version of the coat. Kinda of like the floral for a shorter version.
Hi Viv, I am loving your top. I think that the mauve fabric would be lovely as a dress jacket with a kimono type sleeve but the sleeve not as wide as a kimono and the purple fabric for the Kwik Sew pattern coat. Well have a great weekend and a wonderful week.
I like all the choices for the coat but I think the first one, the mauve burnout, would be beautiful.
I like the purple for the long coat. Of course, the black & white sparkle would also be great with large statement buttons. Anything you choose will be great, as usual.
I vote for the black and white with sparkles, black and white always classic.
The last one, the velour flannel combo in purple would make a great coat!
I,m digging the velour for the coat!
I like the first fabric, very classy.
I like the purple. But any of the 3 will be lovely, can’t wait to see it!
Thanks for the video. It is comforting to know that I am not alone in making errors! So generous of you to share.
I can’t wait to see the fashion show. I love the black and white sparkle.
Love, love, lov!!
The purple is gorgeous!!! I like the blk/wht for coat, but I think you'll pick one more colorful, lol. The new jacket is great, I would have left it without buttons at all. Great patterns.
I like the first fabric. They all look good.
I like the number 3 choice for the jacket/coat.
My pick is #1, then #3, then #2. On a side note, I haven’t been watching your videos for very long but I have yet to see a video where you are mean spirited. Please keep on making these videos as I enjoy them and you so much. I’ve never sewn clothes, just curtains and pillows, but you inspire me to try. Loved your video on the vintage patterns. We share the same birth year!
I am liking the black sparkle! Can't wait to see it finished!
I vote purple for the long coat.
Get your sparkle on, girl!!
Oh honey, I feel your pain! I once made an embroidered blazer and scorched it so badly I had to trash it. Need I say, it happened at the end of construction. I also made a vest when due to an illness, I had gotten down to 105 lbs. Based on the size guidelines, it should have fit. It was about a half inch too small. The upside is that I wore it unbuttoned. I am so glad you share the ups and downs of sewing because I thought I was the only person on planet earth that encountered problems even on “easy” patterns. Lol.
Oooh, love the mauve for the jacket.
Viv, you are going to completely spoil us with all these great uploads! Thank you! And thank you for asking for our ideas on the fabric for your Kwik Sew jacket...my vote goes for the plum because: *fav colour, *yummy texture, *Brad won't be able to resist giving you a snuggly hug with that beautiful flannelish-velour feel. Your Lidl flowers were lovely. Your Butterick pattern choices were spot-on...I can absolutely SEE you in those. I've got to hit up my Joanns and see if they have New Look 6763. So glad you showed this one, I've been hunting for an empire-waist jacket to try to copy a RTW jacket that has gotten too tight and this one is doable. For your too-tight jacket, why not duplicate those buttonholes on the opposing side and then adding some cute ties with a pretty cord for a boho vibe? Love the Lidl footage and I'd have scooped up plenty of those goodies. They are German-owned aren't they? So is Pfaff... so maybe they get off-brand goods made by Pfaff. Thank you, happy sewing and have a great weekend!
Hi dear Viv,I think the jacket would look nice in the mauve velour for a nice casual smart look, and in the second material for day wear, sorry I didn’t like the third material. You have made some really nice choices in patterns,I too like the dress with the chiffon overlay, and I agree it doesn’t want to be long. Loved your video today, pleased to see you looking more relaxed and well, have a lovely weekend sweet lady, lots of love xx
This is my little quote when it comes to making errors on garments. "We all make mistakes as all seamsters know, but if you make a big one, you'll have to RIP WHAT YOU SEW. LOLOL!
I made Butterick 6685 this morning, view C. No belt though. It's really cute! Make the jacket from the burn out. It would be beautiful. Glad you didn't let the haters get you❤.
I'm glad it's just not me alone messing up my projects! Lol, I'm sorry though that you've had some frustration with your sewing, but thanks for sharing and making me laugh. Love your videos 😊
Love the burnout!!!! But the purple gives you Chanel vibe. Love the hair. Color fantastic! (Former stylist). Viv your fabulous!!!!
Thank you for all your videos you are great
Ya know I had to take a break from house work when I saw you made a new video 😁. The purple material would be nice for fall and winter, the black and white would look nice for a dressy occasion. I'm such a sucker for roses so beautiful. ❤ Like all your pattern picks , especially the twist bell sleeve one. Think I'll get that one. Well back to the salt mine. Thanks for sharing. Blessings
No.1 for the short jacket and No3 for the longer one.I like all three of them.
I just got the Nancy Zeiman "Pattern Fitting With Confidence" book. I think you would benefit from it!!! Good read and alot of illustrations! Lol! Your buttonholes made me laugh. I'll be sewing some Simplicity patterns this weekend. Happy to see you AGAIN ! Yay!
i love the flannel velour for Kwik Sew 3732. I'm enjoying the "get-it-done in July" challenge. Also, I want to tell you that I'm sold on your tip of using bias binding instead of facings..
I love the second one for a jacket or coat🐾👍🏻
I love you and your pockets!
I love the first pattern... beautiful.
Viv, I can't wait to see your Brad pick jacket. Really excited to see that. Can't decide which fabric I would use, but you will look fabulous in any of those. I am laughing at your pressing and buttonhole dilemma as, I have made those same mistakes. I have burned up some nice blouses and put nice triangular iron prints on pants. It happens before you know it. Hang in there, you have many more successes than boo boos. Happy Sewing.
Here's to sewing all weekend!!! You are so creative---"edgy button holes"--gotta love you!! Looking forward to your finished sewing projects for this weekend!! Happy Sewing!!
I live in Edinburgh and have just started watching your videos, I must thank you, when you showed how to ease the top of sleeves to fit easily. It was great and I have used this process three times now and it is marvellous. So thank you very much

You’re very welcome, June! You’re a sweetheart for coming back to tell me. When I learned about crimping, it changed my sewing. Now I’ve seen yet another method where no basting stitch is applied, and you do some fancy hand work easing the sleeve in with the left hand as the right hand pulls the armhole taut. Whoa! She said it was for more advanced seamstresses. I may try it someday, but for now crimping is great. Welcome to the channel, I am so charmed that you’re here!😄🌺
"They tend to run large... except for this one!" I'm cracking up!! You always make my day with your funny observations. Thank you for the giggles. As far as that too-tight top is concerned, I would add a little insert to the front and then make a matching skirt or cropped pants out of whatever fabric you use, to tie the outfit together. That would look cute on you.

Thanks Donna! Laughter is always good. And I love your fix idea; I have gotten some amazingly creative ideas for that shirt.😄👍
I think the Mauve burn out would make a fabulous jacket, that gets my vote. Still working on my July challenge. One more blouse to go, did not like the first pattern so much in the cotton/lawn, now have to decide on another pattern, having a hard time because I love this fabric so much. Happy Weekend Sewing and can't wait to hear what your business venture is all about. You and Brad make a great team so I am sure it will be a success!
I purchased some of the thread from Lidl. I shop at Lidl weekly. I love their various product selection. I enjoy your videos.
Love the burnout fabric for a great (no button) topper for evening. The color would be wonderful on you over a black simple tee and tapered pants with black flats a la Audry Hepburn. The top you're wearing is wonderful. I loved that fabric when you showed it, and you definitely did it justice. Nice presentation. Glad to see there are sales available. So far, I only see very expensive fabrics and patterns. Used to be that sewing for yourself was seen as a way to save money. Not sure how to find out about the sales...
Thanks for sharing Vivmom! I enjoy your videos and appreciate your down to earth life commentary and humor! I agree with other posts about the frog closures, I would pick black to contrast with the green. That should increase your finished garment size and cover the button holes. I like all of your fabric choices for the jacket. It would be interesting to use the black/sparkle fabric and selectively use the fabric's white wrong side for an accent (sleeve cuffs, collar, hemline, etc.). Oh, after watching your accountability video and being inspired to complete a cut out project, I just finished a pair of shorts for my husband...and he wears them...😉 Happy sewing!
Purple, for sure! Beautiful for Fall and beautiful with your coloring.
The b&w would be great & classic!
The black fabric is the best.
You can sew decorative frog closures to the front, either in dark green or black, and they would add a pop of style. For your jacket I think you would look fab in the dark purple, but the second fabric also would look classic. Sorry, I'm no help!
Great patterns that you picked up! I vote for the purple material. The jacket that didn't fit....let it go! I did the exact same thing! My daughter now wears it! Love your "new look!" Xx oo
The purple fabric would be great for the pattern. Plus you'll look beautiful in the purple color!
I agree about the overlay on 6553. I have a thing about not seeing the inside of a fabric unless its a solid. You got some really cute patterns.
You are adventurous always trying new patterns. I prefer to use ones that have been altered and proven to fit
I LOVE the mauve fabric, but actually the black and white would be the most versatile for a jacket. So I would probably use the black and white and make something else from the mauve. It would make a beautiful autumn dress! And thanks so much for sharing your mistakes! I’m learning a lot from those and since I want to get back into sewing when my broken wrist heals, this information will be so helpful! I also agree with you on the binding - your method looks a lot more professional than the binding they suggest! Enjoy your sewing time this weekend!
I vote the purple fabric for your coat. Whatever you choose, it'll be lovely!
Love the hair!! Thank you for such an instructional video. I like the purple one for the jacket.
I think the purple fabric is my choice.. your such a cutie. Have fun
Wow, you got super cute Butterick patterns. I love them all!
I love the purple fabric for the long jacket!!! I am going to have to get some of that fabric!!!
I like it. It seems like the button holes make it unique. Hope it looks cute on when your done.
Your hair is so pretty! I love the mauve and the purple for the jackets. Lol...I run into sewing disasters too, and I love your remade bodice. I and can't wait to see your finished dress.
