These are the pants I have been looking for! Wide-legged! Hardware! Huge pockets! Adjustable! I can't wait to make them. So glad I found your channel. Also: 1. I love your headband 2. I love your wrist pincushion 3. I love the fabric you chose for your pants and am so impressed by how you matched the pattern. You are adorable! Can't wait to see what you make next.

I love that you're discovering the wonders of twill tape! we use it SO MUCH in theatre costuming, there are so many weird applications for it. it is great in a pinch! i've seen people use it for boning channels on their corsetry (usually when the corset or bodice isn't made of anything dainty). I've most often used it for labeling things though - not something that always needs doing in "real life" but its an absolute MUST in costumes!

You can take 5” off of denim jeans by adding elastic inside the waist band on the back half and gets rid of back gaps. Sometimes you have to sew the front pocket shut to stop the pockets from pulling out. Open the waistband on the inside from each hip and slide the elastic in with a safety pin, and then secure it flat inside of the waistband on each hip from top to bottom. Then, sew your opening shut from the inside.

The elastic panel and belt tabs remind me of the Richard Simmons (exercise guru) dress pants of the late 80s/early 90s. Pleat front slacks were in style, but allowed tummy bloat to be very visible unless you wore support undies. These pants had a stretch panel from side seam to zipper each side, so you got a snug fit on bum and smooth pleats on front. They also had button tabs on the side, so you could add up to 4 inches to waist band without changing the look. I really wish a lot more bottoms had those stretch panels. Nicely done!
