Thanks, this video was really helpful! I was wondering how you finish a garment that did have facing? Would you sew the facing or use bias tape? Also, what type of needle is best to use? Thanks again for this helpful video.

Thanks for this video! I will apply these techniques to the far less expensive/far less delightful crinkle rayons I fell in love with at JoAnn's, then waited for deep discounts before purchasing. I'm sewing on an inexpensive Pfaff 1530 mechanical, not computerized I bought 20yrs ago but didn't use till recently. It doesn't have a walking foot available, but an IDT (Integrated Dual Tension)system. It sounds like what you referred to as an 'even feed' system? Will paper and an awl help those seams? I just love your beautiful jacket and will save to get some of your crinkle linen to make a dress with!

Hi Elise, the IDT does sound like it it would be comparable to the Bernina even feed system. But I would still recommend using the tissue paper on knits if you are having any issues with your seams. It works wonders! Thanks so much for your kind words about the jacket, I hope you have fun sewing your crinkle rayons!

Does anyone remember New Hero clothes from the 70s? I’ve been looking for that thick crinkle cotton, not to mention the great colors.

How do you intend to launder that beautiful jacket? I’m interested in how it will look after being machine washed and dried. Will it be mishapen? Will it need touch up with steam? Thanks!

Hi! Linda said she would wash the cotton gauze in cold to lukewarm water and dry it in the dryer. She tested a square of the fabric with those washing procedures before sewing the jacket. Thanks!
