Tailoring is hard and a suit takes time, but I had to make this Peaky Blinders outfit. What do you think?

I can't even begin to describe how good a man looks in a well made suit specifically tailored to fit him. Just look at this video if you want to see such a man. Perfection.
The nauseated reaction to the modern suit was so relatable 😂👏🏻
Merry fucking Christmas everyone! Errata/Q&A: - Yes, I forgot some basting thread in the back of the jacket collar. - No, I haven't put any lining inside the jacket yet. I was in a rush and didn't need it for the video.

Who taught you tailoring sir?
WHAT A GENIUS! Vintagebursche is single-handedly bringing back the true men's aesthetics
I think you look classy and badass at the same time. On occasions when I've dressed "vintage bad boy" my Harley-riding leather-clad friends say I "look sharp". You get looks and respect when you dress up this style that's for sure!
i didn't know how much i needed a sewing video scored with metal music, but here i am
i'm loving the intro change for this one :D the soundtrack is definitely on point. i did not expect sewing to be this badass. 🖤🖤 🧨🧨 as always: great video!

I have to disagree on the music. I found it way too distracting and it pulled me out of the "period" he was trying to recreate. Period correct jazz or ragtime would have fitted it much better, in my opinion.
That suit looks amazing!! I wish you had talked a little bit about the making process and how you did it however, as there aren’t many that explain the process

@@Vintagebursche You could always squeeze out two videos for one project. One the slick, highlights of the process with the reveal. The second could be a slightly longer vlog style that goes into a technique or two? - Cathy (&, accidently, Steve), Ottawa/Bytown/Pimisi
So good! 🔥 Also thank you for linking the Cutter's Guide - I've been looking for something like that lately 🙂
The moment you donned the cap and looked at the camera with one eye. That. That was hot. 🔥 I admire your precision! I tend to cut corners on my sleeves and...subsequently need some maintenance. Thanks for another inspiring video
I just love that sound of Disgust in 2:11, That is what 90% of these KZreadrs and Tiktokers get wrong when they do "how to dress like a peaky blinder" videos like OMG the amount of skinny trousers i see in them 🤮, your videos are THE only definitive guide, Keep them up good sir & well done
This is fu..... awesome! Thanks for sharing your passion here. Vote for dedicated sawing video regarding the jacket ✋
Fantastic results, fabulous video editing, like always. 🖤✨
Underrated video. Your skills are awesome. I want that suit so bad. Very very cool 😎
As a cosplayer learning how to tailor because I am working on a Bug's Bunny semi human design, you just helped me majorly I'm doing so much research on vintage suits and it's so hard to find any videos on them being made as I'm thinking of creating a 50s 3 piece never done it before but I know I have to just go for it. Thank you so much genuinely.
This is awesome! My brother and I love Peaky Blinders, and I've been using your book to make him a waistcoat for Christmas. Next year I'm going to try to make him some other pieces for the outfit.
Love this one
I've never seen Peaky Blinders, but this aesthetic is wonderful. Beautiful suit!
Beautiful ❤
Seriously great work!
The image you found when Googling 'Peaky Blinder Suit' made me wince (followed by nausea and dizzyness/shortness of breath). Loving your videos; suit was great - Baker boy capped it all off 🙂 Regards Tony
Impeccable work as usual 💥
Amazing job. All respect for your passion keep going
Once again another gem video ! The suit is sharp 🤩
Happy Holidays!
That is such a well cut suit. Such clean lines!!
This is your best video yet! The Peaky Blinders outfit is gorgeous!
Congratulations for making a whole suit. You've come a long way!
Watching a whole day of sewing videos on my day off and the music for this one is awesome. Heavy music and I am totally here for it!
The peaky blinders clothing and styling were incredible.
Looking excellent as always, and ofc you needed the matching cap!
Gerade erst gefunden... Sofort abonniert! Dein Channel ist pures GOLD!
Herrlich. Echt herrlich. That fabric is absolutely luscious and your workmanship does it justice.
I love your music choices for this video... the ensemble is perfect. Well done. There is nothing like tailoring. I'm about to start on a vest for myself. All the very best of the new year to you and yours and everyone you love and respect. Cheers! - Cathy (&, Steve), Ottawa/Bytown/Pimisi
Thanks for the video. I would love to get into tailoring just to be able to fashion myself some items like this. Maybe one day I'll try to pick up the basics and start practicing. It must be very satisfying to put on something you've made yourself!
Wow. You know how to self-tailor. I am very impressed.
Wonderful! Merry Christmas :)
Impressive & visually exciting🌹🥂
i love the manly music to go with the manly attire, i love all his videos
This video is so awesome to watch! I like your sense of humour too. And the resulting suit looks stunning on you! I wish I either had your manual dexterity or could have a suit like that made for me 'on the house' somewhere😅
This is the sexiest sewing montage I've ever seen. Instant sub.
Cool. It has been a while since i have seen you. Great video, thank you

Please make a tutorial video for the jacket tailoring !!
Großartiges Video, toller Schnitt und epische Musik :) Achso: Und der Anzug ist der Hammer.
Well done good soul! Very inspirational video my friend. Merry Christmas and God bless.
this entire video was fire. I especially appreciated how meticulous you were with pressing your seams and with the pad stitching!!
It looks cool! I wish modern style would draw from the past more (1920's). You are a talent with your sewing skills..
This is such a great channel in an age where its sooo hard to find sources about this type of knowlodge.
This guy makes making a suit look like a joke, believe me, I just sew a paint of trousers at school and it ain't easy.... You damn good man
6:14 has me dead, I love hearing peaky blinders jokes and skits in videos purely because as lovely and calming as your voice is; I'm from Birmingham myself, so it's like home when I hear our awful accent 😅
This is amazing! I would personally have loved a 30 min video for each piece considering all the work you're putting into them but I understand that you have to keep shorter format for the algorithm
the Denix replica its a must have =)
I love your videos. Merry Christmas. And I was wondering something. A long time back in one of your videos, you were talking about trying to find modern hiking boots. I was curious what you eventually went with? Thank you for your videos.
Nice
Would be really fun to interview the costume designer from the show...
Ah sehr geil geworden !!

@Vintagebursche?
@Vintagebursche

Great video mate! I wonder if you will make a video about the fabric and texture used for the suit from Peaky Blinders? Thanks
Great video as always, Niklas, and just in time as I plan on making my first suit in the new year! I followed the parts of the process you posted on Instagram, and it seems like it only took you about a month to make the suit? I'm guessing that efficiency and time management come with experience, but it's completely mind-blowing to me. I really appreciated the tips you gave for first-time jacket-making. Your knowledge of sewing is indispensable to me. Much love and happy new year :)
*I MAKE BESPOKE* historical menswear - I just finished a 1917 swept fronted 3 button lounge suit in grey / blue Donegal tweed - 210 hours of work in this. Yesterday drafted a 1900 4-button straight front with centre pleat action back, this will have a colourless waistcoat and high-waisted Fishback trousers with a single forward-facing front pleat - in a charcoal grey 14oz melton. This will have a black velvet collar, ticket pocket and be VERY Peaky Blinders EDIT - almost exactly the same cloth you are using
I really need to sit down and watch this show... I keep starting the first episode then turning it off >
It would be very nice if you could do a Peaky Blinders dedicated ebook with all the sewing patterns. I would really pay for it as I'm a huge fan of this aethetic and your final suit.
nice thx
I really enjoyed the editing of this video! I wish you went a little more in depth with how you sewed each garment though

This whole video is such a vibe, thank you for the awesome content you always put out! I was wondering, how much fabric did you purchase/use to make this whole ensemble? I would like to get to suit-making levels someday, so an idea of fabric requirements would be super helpful!

what holster do u use to carry a Webley?

Do you make these for customers?

I’m kind of surprised you responded! Woah! Thank you! To be fair, I am in the middle of a 2 hour ladies wallet sewing tutorial that I paid to accompany the pattern. And, I will rewatch it. I also watch hours long quilting KZreadrs while I quilt. As an avid quilter I have an insatiable desire for all things sewing. Maybe you can you develop a fans only thing or Patreon and charge people to watch hours of sewing. I’d probably join…sigh…

It feels quite 20's, is ti from that time?
I love your content, as you're one of the few historical clothiers here on KZread that covers menswear. If I had one complaint it would be to adjust the audio levels of your music to be closer to your speaking level - you're pretty soft spoken which makes the transition to the music very jarring and loud.
@hopenield8234

I found the sound levels just right. It was an unexpected track choice but I loved that as it reflected the interests of the maker rather than the traditional KZread costumer video music.
@AleesaTana

@@hopenield8234 Oh yeah, I don't mind the music, but I had the volume turned down so that when he started speaking again I couldn't hear him and had to back it up.
I always love your videos! What were you doing near the end of the waistcoat (5:08) when you cut the notch on the edge and sewed it up? While I have your attention... I would really like to have your E-book but I don't speak any German at all. I'm an experienced sewist so I think I could get a lot out of it just by having the patterns and illustrations. However, I was wondering if the format is such that the text could be highlighted and copied into Google translate, when necessary? Rather painstaking but, perhaps, worth it. I get the impression that there really is nothing comparable available in English.

They should have hired you for the costume design. The suits in the show just look off to me.
This is incredible! I’ve always wanted to make myself a waistcoat but I’ve always wondered why the back is made out of satin(silk?) and not the same wool fabric as the front.... Is it because it’s meant to be worn underneath a jacket and therefore is meant to reduce bulk?
@Vintagebursche
Well, there are waistcoats with shell fabric backs. That's a viable option. I have one of thkse myself. It is warmer though and you need more of the good fabric which is probably the reason why modern waistcoats always have a satin back.

I am trying to find someone, anyone, who wants or knows what to do with my father's 1920s boating blazer, which he bought some time in the 60s. It is moth-damaged, but it's 100 years old and surely someone's collection or recreation project needs it? I hate the idea of throwing it away. (Your Peaky Blinders outfit looks amazing -- I will be following as I do make menswear inspired historical clothing for myself.)
It went by really quickly, couldn't quite see. Is there just a single button on the sleeve cuff? Is that a surgeon's cuff?
