Sewage pollution at Cape Town's beaches: How bad is it?

As we eagerly welcome summer and long-awaited beach days, the current state of water pollution at several Cape Town beaches remains a concern for locals.
According to reports, alarming levels of E.coli were detected in Muizenberg's water.
According to the National Water Quality Guideline, Muizenberg's water falls under the 'good' and 'excellent' bracket.

    Fisheries and wildlife have approved of a plan to dump sewage at Cape Point a year back and now they want to know what is going on ?????

    Comments below: What the hell? So it must become politicised again? Give me a break asb tog! This upload is about something that has been an issue since the 60's(calculated guess). Who was in power then? Its unimportant now. Stop soap-boxing and blame laying. In other words, what IS the situation with sewerage dumping? I mean, the ocean is a pretty MASSIVE volume. Originally, people that built those outlets may have assumed its fine. Maybe now, not so cool. An other thought, has ANYONE died from this k*k?(scuse the pun).
