I’m up late in California and just saw this video. And you said it was their $5 Friday special “today”. It isn’t midnight here yet, but on the website it is Friday, so I bought it! 2 Questions: what type of knit fabric did you use? It looks like one with not a lot of stretch. I think it is just what I need:) On several of the models on the LN site, the scoop neck looks very big. But yours does not. Did you change it on the pattern? Thank you for this great idea!

Hi Gerrie! I *believe* this is a fabric from Joann and it looks to me like a cotton spandex, but it could be double brushed poly or even a bamboo spandex. We'll confirm and get back to you. As for the neckline, fabric plays SUCH a major role here as does the individual models bodies. As for views A and C which use this scoop neck, all of the models in the listing used the original pattern with no adjustments - so that's where the unique body type and fabric type come into play, As a rule, the less recovery your fabric has the more the neckline can get opened up, so that might explain some of the differences. Hope that helps!

@@LoveNotions Thank you for answering! I’ve made dresses that had a scoop neck, one a knit, another a woven, and both were terrible disasters, way too wide and “revealing” and looking just plain too big on me. So that is why I asked about this top/dress. I have narrow shoulders and am just small enough not to need the FBA. A couple of the examples shown on your website would be “too much” too low for me. Looks fine on them but not my taste. But I love how the scoop neck looks on you in the tiered dress. Also, I’m tempted to size up and try making the tiered dress out of a woven, just to see how it goes. The simplicity and relaxed fit might work in a woven.

This pattern does have negative ease at the bust, so sizing up might not always work well. But there are no sewing police and it might be a fun experiement! Let us know how it goes and we'll be here to help!

I have a hearing problem and even with my hearing aids in I was unable to hear you speaking above the very loud music which I found really unnecessary.
