Of course, things like this happen when you need to be somewhere and someone is waiting for you.
I bought a vintage Coca Cola cooler, very neat, and I was on the way to meet the person I bought it from to help me load it on my little trailer.
I noticed the temperature gauge peg to the right and immediately the coolant started to boil over and steam. I was at a stop light and decided to run it before I ruined my engine.
The whole ordeal was over in about 45 minutes, from breakdown to repair. Although, I spent about an hour burping the system after I got home. The old Datsun is still running a little too warm for my comfort. I noticed the thermostat is opening up at about 180 or more, and that the radiator has zero flow, which I believe is my water pump impeller no longer spinning due to rust or is corroded through.
Check out the top radiator hose collapse towards the end of the video. It happened after I sprayed the radiator with the water hose to cool it down.
