Four years later, Melbourne bid for the 1996 games (they had hosted the games 40 years earlier) and lost to Atlanta, but four years after that, Sydney bid for the 2000 games and won. Since Los Angeles got the 2028 games, Brisbane should bid for the 2032 games!

Rupert Murdoch's Queensland prawns were not enough to woo IOC members back in 1986.
