We’ve did this for centuries y’know the area of Israel has been through a lot of massacre and settling, just like when the Ottomans took it over or the Romans, so far this war is a stalemate, I don’t personally think there is a real villain here, the Jewish people have been persecuted and searching for a “promise land for years” and they got an opportunity, while although the Palestine people were there at the time, it was because of immigration from the Islamic Empires. Nobody truely deserves the land fully, And until somebody gives up Jerusalem, Palestine isn’t going to get its state.

After 72 years of mindless Arab aggression, why would anyone offer them the same deal they rejected then and continue to reject now? When the Arabs had the Old City of Jerusalem they excluded the Jews from their holy sites. Why would anyone trust them not to do the same again? I am going to pretend that you made that suggestion in good faith even though we both know you didn't.

It's not a war crime as long as you are allied with the most powerful state in the world.

@@kleoonyoutube If you look it up, there's multiple accounts of Palestinian families being forcefully evicted from their homes in Jerusalem for Israeli settlers to move in. Add to that the fact the IDF has a history of demolishing Palestinian houses on Palestinian Land in the West Bank, and it doesn't seem something that far off for the IDF to do. Check sources like Haaretz, B'Tselem and Breaking the Silence if you want Israeli sources, there' s tons of accounts.

Not at all comparable. Muslims have many Islamic countries where they can choose to settle. Jews only have one small piece of land. Jews have one option. Jews are also probably the most persecuted group of people in history, I think its reasonable they should have their own country,....that doesnt mean I agree with expanding settlements. They need to come to some sort of agreement, with possibly a Palestinian state. The problem is you have Jewish religious fanatics on one side, and Islamic religious Jihad fanatics on the other.

It's not the same thing at all: Spain has no religious significance in Islam; Muslims are given full rights in Europe- treated as completely equal citizens- while Jews in Palestine were treated abysmally until they took up arms to defend themselves. Palestine was also never a country, it was a part of the Ottoman Empire that was annexed after the Ottomans chose to join that bloody conflict on the side of the central powers. As soon as the first Jews migrated to Israel/Palestine, which the British were quite within their rights to allow, they gained as much a right to the land as the Arabs who were living there- that is why the UN agreed to partition the land equally in 1947. The Arabs would still have half of Israel-Palestine if they didn't lose or declare the war they unilaterally declared on the newly formed Jewish state. They would still have a third of Israel-Palestine if from 1949 they made peace but instead they made promises of extermination and amassed troops and tanks at the Israeli border so from 1967 they have nothing- no rights whatsoever beyond those basic to humanity or which the state of Israel chooses willingly to bestow upon them. Lastly, whatever doubt there may have been regarding the legality of the 1967 expansion to defensible borders was completely eliminated in 1973 when the Arabs for a second time unilaterally committed the cardinal sin within international law, Aggression, and declared war on and launched a surprise invasion of Israel (on the holiest day of the Jewish year, Yom Kippur), only to lose once again for a third time, at which point the territories became indisputably Israeli by right of extending their state to defensible borders after victory in a war where they were not the aggressor. But what about all the Palestinian refugees?? At the end of the 1948 war, it is true there was an estimated 711,000 Arabs who were either expelled from or left their homes and arrived within the borders of other Arab countries, and to this day there are over 5,000,000 of their descendants still within these countries living in abysmal conditions and without civil rights. What people fail to also mention was that at the end of the 1948 war there was in turn over 800,000 Jews were either expelled from or left their homes in neighboring Arab countries, and within just a couple of years there was no "Jewish refugee crisis" because each and every one of them was taken in by dirt-poor fledgling Israel and provided with full citizenship and civil rights. Problem solved. The Arab countries could have done the same thing for Palestinian refugees- given the wealth and resources of these well established and oil rich states- but they chose not to and did not want to; these poor, miserable human beings were and still are too useful a tool in the despicable game of lies, cruelty, bigotry, victim-blaming, self-pity and aggression played by the wider Arab world against Israel. I don't defend the actions of the modern Likud party, the west bank settlements or the appalling treatment of Palestinians within the occupied territories, but the modern trend of making out as if Israel is somehow the major boogeyman in this conflict is either a display of breathtaking ignorance or major intellectual dishonesty. Not to mention the 3000-year history of "right of conquest" just suddenly apparently comes to an end in 1949 for some people- I'm not talking legally with the establishment of the UN charter, either, but morally, because the arguments of these morons who recently crawled out of the woodwork are not nuanced legal ones but resolutely of the self-righteous moral variety- a flock of white liberal 20 somethings from the USA, South America, Australia and New Zealand complaining about Israel as if their country was built more or even just as humanely. Ludicrous.

I like it when the commentator says 'buying Palestinian homes' while he shows Palestinians taken by force out of their homes is hilarious. Have you seen a house seller taken by force out the sold house? It's not buying, it's stealing by force.

A government agency, the Israel Land Authority (ILA), manages and allocates these state lands. For those who may not fully grasp the situation: The Israeli government is currently displacing Palestinians from their homes under the pretext of lacking valid proof of ownership. Many of these homes have been passed down through generations, making it exceedingly difficult to provide concrete documentation of ownership, especially when considering that some were constructed by ancestors several generations ago. Consequently, Israelis are now able to purchase these homes from the government (which is completely legal btw) following the evictions, further perpetuating the campaign of ethnic cleansing aimed at displacing Arab residents and solidifying the ethnocratic structure of the state.

They didn't buy anything of them they literally just dragged them out of their own house and gave it to settlers

The residents often refuse to leave after the home is purchased by someone else. It’s just like here (the U.S. or any other Western nation). If tenants or previous owners won’t vacate the premises, the law gets called in.

One recent news video explained how one Palestinian man had their shops and homes demolished multiple times but kept getting money from pro-Palestinian charities to rebuild knowing that the street has been rezoned and that it will all be demolished again. He could have taken the money and relocated his shop and house but he didn’t. Why? Does he want a good life, or does he want to fight Israelis? The narrative is “Poor Palestinians just want to have a home and a shop,” but there’s no more going on. There’s money to be made by all of the NGOs who take advantage of the situation. Millions of dollars of aid come in every month for Palestinians. Where is it all going? How much gets to stick to the hands of the closest activists? How much makes it to Palestinians? Rezoning happens in the US too. And someone always doesn’t like it. But everything with the Palestinians plays into this bigger narrative of the victim.

All the land was paid for. The Israeli courts would step in if it wasn’t and Israeli Arabs state often that the Israeli courts are very good. If there was any evidence of the homes not being actually purchased, Vox would have happily shown it.

@@sandrad9695 the courts treat all israeli’s equally, israeli arabs are israeli citizens thus are treated equally, but the arabs living in jerusalem are not israeli arabs, and in case your wondering, they can’t gain an israeli citizenship even if they marry an israeli as there is a specific law banning palestinians from gaining citizenship and only through converting religion can they receive their rights, to be noted in most cases israeli arabs have same rights as israeli jewish, the laws in place are targeting the palestinians who are not israeli citizens, I personally can not understand why anyone would ever want to live in the cursed city of jerusalem as there has been no other city in history where more killing and violence happened, and no city had been conquered by more nations than jerusalem, besides let’s be honest the jewish organisations usually when they decide to take a house they always start diplomatically by offering to buy the house at high price, once refusing to sell they will keep increasing the price (sometimes the price will be high enough for you to buy an entire village) once the price surpasses their budget the peaceful organisations give up and the violent ones replaces them to use underhanded tactics to take the house, the palestinians know that eventually they will lose their houses, the smart ones sell at high prices then move out and reinvest the money becoming rich, the fools remain stubborn and get thrown out of their houses anyway without a penny

OK, so what do you do if there is an organized effort to have as many babies as possible with the goal of Arab leadership being to destroy the only Jewish state demographically? Do you allow another Holocaust to happen so as to protect democracy? Democracy is not a god. It's one of many political systems. I prefer it as I believe it's the best of the bunch. But there is such a thing as overriding considerations that could justify a modifications to protect an already endangered, ancient people from annihilation.

They deliberately keep the palestanian neighborhood poor and don't give them proper chances of education, employment and basic necessities of life, and then offer huge money --raised through external donors -- to buy properties (in case we believe what is mentioned in the video), then who is to blame if they sale it? Israel knows what it is doing. Like the jewish settler said in the video that they want to "jewdize" the area. For the same reason Human Rights Watch called Israel an "Apartheid".

Claiming they have a religious right to the land as they move in while conveniently ignoring that the other side also have religious ties to the land that they're now being pushed out of.

What I meant with my comment was that it should be an international zone that isn't under a single religion. In the video it says that Jews feel like they're entitled to rule over Jerusalem, and me being Catholic, I believe it should be that way, however it is causing a lot of problems; and if there's something God and nature have taught us is that we must find a way to live together. That's why I think it shouldn't be ruled by any state, but rather by an international organization or something like that , where we all rule.

Because some people realise that there is another side of the story that your media chooses not to tell you. Yesterday, a rocket was fired into Israel. You did not hear about this. Furthermore, reporting from CNN, Vox, etc is incredibly one-sided, and you cannot be blamed for thinking exactly that! From the video: "Israel seized in 1967" "Israel fought a war with its neighbors" Vox chooses to "forget" to mention that all of Israel's wars were waged against it. 5 Arab armies attacked Israel on the day of its declaration of independence with the intent of "annihilation of the Jewish people" in 1948. 5 Arab armies were mounting along the borders preparing for an attack with the intent of "annihilation of the Jewish people" in the Six-Day war of 1967. If Israel had not won those wars, I would not be here to write this comment. Please, please be aware that Vox' reporting is extremely one-sided. What's worse than not knowing is choosing not to know, and choosing to report about a war as if it was just "fought" by two sides out of the blue. Why are you doing this, Vox?

Jerusalem as the capital of a Palestinian state. Under international law, the West Bank (including E. Jerusalem) and Gaza are occupied Palestinian territory. Israel illegally annexed E. Jerusalem in 1980. Your history is quote confused.

Israel has offered the Palestinians to have their own country several times and the PA refused every time.(last offer was just a decade ago) Now ask yourself, what do the Palestinians what?

Arabs get to vote and have first class health care and education in Israel yet they refuse to pay tax and warn Israelis of being killed if they enter certain towns. Most are Jordan Arabs who lost in the 6 day war. They could go back to Jordan if they hate Israel so much.

The Europeans gave themselves a new identity when they colonised South Africa. They became Afrikaners. They claim the land was empty when they found it. To this day they own the most land than Black people.

Beltrán Diosdado I fully believe that, given enough time, fundamentalist countries will gradually become more secular. The reason this already happened in Western countries is that our governments were more powerful/industrialised and held back other countries through colonialism. Now that western countries are starting to keep to themselves more, religious countries will become more secular as they become more modern

They had been there for generations (in fact, they and the Christians had been there eons before Islam!) and may have stayed, except that they were expelled by the arabs after Israel had won its Independence War...even if most of the arab countries that expelled them took no part in the war!

I was squarely on the Israel side until that guy said that if you want to vote then you have to be Jewish, or move away. I don’t agree with that. If Israel is going to say it’s a democratic country then it have to be democratic. Religious tests for suffrage is wrong and I agree with anyone who wants to peacefully protest that. Such restrictions is why people throw the world apartheid around.

It looks like it’s the tenants who don’t want to move after their landlord sold their property. I think the normal police have to let the soldiers do the evicting because the Palestinians respond so violently.

They lost their land because they invaded israel multiple times, before they could even see if Israel was capable of ruling well. The settlements aren't right, but the plurality of Palestinians, even in the west bank, support Hamas. Palestine would not rule the jews well, just as israel and current palestine do not rule the arabs well

@@fer04i81 Agreed! And the arabs have done exactly that! It was called the Muslim Conquest. It included the Middle East, North Africa, Spain, and much of Europe and Asia. Asia has gotten most of its land back (there still are some Muslim countries there), Europe has its land back (although it took the Spanish many years to get Spain back,) North Africa and the Middle East are still controlled by Islam...except for Israel, where the Jews have regained a small portion of their land; the size of the state of New Jersey in the US,!
