Setting up Godox X1T with Multiple V860II Flashes (1 Master, 3 Slaves) - Quick and Dirty - Episode 6

Having multiple V860II flashes in different groups is a valuable tool to customize your lighting setup to fit the styling of your next photoshoot. Once again we take a very quick look at this kind of setup.

    Ok, correct me. You can use a Nikon controller with Godox flashes for other systems and they will fire. They fire in "manual" mode. So with this setup there is no TTL functionality, right? To get TTL one would have to use flashes from the same system type as the controller, i.e., all Nikon, all Olympus, or whatever?

  • @ShortCutGuides

    @ShortCutGuides

    3 жыл бұрын

    No, there is full TTL or HSS, as long as the master (and radio, not optical) matches the compatibility of the camera. I.e a Sony flash/trigger on a Sony can then do TTL with all other connected flashes or strobes. Sony/Nikon/canon Godox flashes will need to have the newest firmware to work with Fuji, Olympus and Pentax flashes.

    Alex Juan correct. as long as you have a transmitter that fits your camera model, it can transmit to any of the X wireless compatible units, like v860ii, ad600b/m, ad360, etc... the other switch is the AF assist light control. this feature really depends on which camera you have (e.g. none of the Sony mirrorless models support it).

    All that matters is that a Sony flash or Sony trigger is in your hot shoe. The off camera flashes can be any Godox flash/strobe for other cameras. I.e. a Fuji xpro-f can control any ad600, any v860ii, any V1, etc… if it is on a Fuji camera if you want HSS or TTL. If you don’t need those, any trigger in “one pin” mode will work with your cameras sync speed.

If you are using the Sony Godox X1T, you might need a firmware update, as the A7iii is very new and isn't yet tested fully for compatibility.

    Not usually. If 2 competing masters (i.e. One fuji and one canon) are being used, often the system crashes. Lights will still trigger, but settings get locked in until system is reset. So if you're not adjusting levels, it can work. But if you want full control, the answer is no.

    You can buy any ad200 or ad600B/BM, just make sure you do the most recent firmware update and they will work great!

    Hello, I would like to learn, how can adjust hss on the slave mode. thx

  • @ShortCutGuides

    +Fatih Karakuş HSS is set simply by using a fast shutter speed (above 1/250 or 1/160 depending on what camera you're using) if you're using the X1T. If you're using a flash as a transmitter, use the "sync" button to enable. HSS is not set on the slave units, only on the master.

    Fatih Karakuş the Cactus isn't the same as the X1T. Currently Godox doesn't have an official Fuji transmitter. check out their manual here: www.google.ca/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=www.cactus-image.com/Cactus%2520V6%2520II%2520User%2520Manual%2520%2528EN%2529.pdf&ved=0ahUKEwivn6C636LUAhVBwmMKHezfABAQFggdMAA&usg=AFQjCNEYWlK-qIILzI2PjMKIX1Nznb3x0A&sig2=STUeoefK-8qVQYeHlMzDIw

    Sorry to hear that you're having trouble with radio transmission. Or are you by chance working optically? there is a significant difference between the two. Also, If you're using the X1T transmitter and are getting too close to a flash, remember there is short range mode too.

    Yes, there is now an Olympus/Panasonic compatible Triggers (X1T-o), Miniflashes (TT350o) and Large flash (V860II-o) that would love to be used with your Olympus.
