Not true, they need a warrant before they can FLIR your house, and this is 1.2 kw, a small electric bathroom heater is comparable in power consumption (No smart meter can tell the difference). Your thinking of large commercial size grows in residential housing stealing 30kw of power and the house glowing with radiation.

Tip. Inline fan should be connected right to the carbon filter to limit possible air leaks. You want the inline fan pushing the air through the lights not sucking. Otherwise you may get unwanted smells getting sucked into the system.
Love this. I want to to do the same thing in my basement - we took out the oil tank and know have a ton of space to put it into!
The guys over the back from me did something like that, but they put in massive polytunnels, was a $11 million operation and it was right on cropping time when these guys with guns turned up, pulled up all the plants, and then set them on fire. True story. This was just before I purchased my new place, never saw it myself.

You can trust hooch on this one. This System is absolutly foolprove. Also the combination of deep water roots and roots in growmedia is very benificial for the plants.
Given the sky high electric prices in Australia consider a couple solar panels and a grid tie inverter to greatly reduce electric use.
Awesome. Thats my specialty, let me know if your friend needs any help on the "Lavender"
Most folks, pros included, are using full-spectrum LEDs these days. They run much cooler, much brighter, are dimmable, programmable, take up much less space, never need replacement bulbs and have basically an unlimited lifespan.
I saw a guy using your gear.. In a grow room. Awsome job. Happy to see you doing this.

Peak comedy at 5:53 😂😂😂 I love the lil inserts of fun.
Great set-up. Depending on the plants you're growing, the only thing I would add is to something in there for the humidity. 10 plants will give off a lot of moisture.😊
You fan lasts longer if you put it before the lights as the heat lowers the life span of the fan. Just after the filter so it’s pushing the heat instead of sucking it
Nice grow room. Maybe it would be better for the LTI to be right behind the air Filter. So IT can blow through the cool tubes, so the LTI would live longer. 600's can become prety hot. Cool Video
@Hoocho
Ай бұрын
Oh man, this is a brilliant point.
As others have noted, a parallel vent system would be better/cooler than being in series. The second bulb now has very hot air being drawn over it the entire time, rather than having fresh air being drawn into each light individually. The sickly yellow won't help with the "stealth" factor compared to a modern, full-spectrum White LED. HPS is very much out of date with no real benefits, including cost, heat, energy usage, functionality, longevity and all around convenience. No sense in going "High Tech Hydro", if you're going to use Low Tech lighting.
Loving it

we're going to need an update on how much lavender this produces 😂 asking for a mate
Nice 1 Mr Hoocho. I would be tempted to put the activated carbon filter on the outlet as the air being drawn in around the light fitting is not being filtered removing the smell of the "Lavender". Looking forward to the sampling video

Hello, nice setup over there but something is bothering me. When you apply ventilation, you used series method instead of parallel. I think you may use air as parallel because last lamp will burn from first lamp.
Is that Lavender Indica, or Sativa?
So.. grow room in a warm country... yeeeeh were not growing any weed at all, no promise. :D
Question. With lavender changing its nutrient so fast and often, how do you clean out your system and cycle it through to prevent toxicity and lock outs? I've built RDWC systems for my lavender before and would change my water weekly/fortnightly
Nice work mate🙌🏻🤘🏻👍🏻
you are going to burn that fan quickly pulling all that hot air all the time, better moving it so it is directly efter the filter but before the first light.
Did you have another beer while you were doing your concussion protocols? 🤕 Nice setup 👌
Aren’t his nieghbors going to know that he’s growing “lavender”? 😏
Stupid question- what are you doing for fresh air intake into the room. I understand the exhaust part.. do you guys have some sort of fresh air vent, or air exchanger systems over there?

He could be using LEDs, which draw much less power and make much less heat, as well. The "Power Usage" stuff is nonsense. The power company just wants your money, the more you use/buy, the better. There are "regular" houses that use way more power than this ever will.
Any chance of some lavender cuttings? Toowoomba SEQLD.
Wait, No grow time lapse? LMAO
hps.. in australia? right out the gate this plan seems flawed. cant be very stealthy if the electric company is going to immediately identify the surges in power use. go figure led grow lights would bypass both the heat and power problems.

Great video! And a clean setup! And that old hps spectrum / cooltubes, it kinda make me nostalgic lol My serious growing days are behind me but since i experimented a lot indoors, i have quite a few - very - useful tips to add, sorry!!! x) First, hot glue will be more convenient to seal than cement, or worse silicon, because it's super quick too, but it's also easily removable for cleaning!!! ^^ Also a pool / lining under any indoor hydroponic system is, imo, mandatory; my experience tells me that not doing it is taking a lot of risks... lmao The ventilation system can also be used to add some heat / ventilation into an apartment / house, and by doing so, the carbon filter can also act as an air purifier - the carbon filters in the actual air purifiers are a joke I'm still using analog equipment but a lot of people use smart plugs now, they find it more convenient when one is using quite some electrical equipment on a schedule Finally, silencing the ventilation system is a must, imo, except for somebody growing in a barn or smt; silenced ducts work great but the ones made in cellulose tend to slightly leak a bit of fiber over time. Also putting the fan in a box with acoustic foam or just clothes will dampen a LOT of that noise too. There are also rubber / epdm junctions to kill the vibration for somebody living in an apartment - always respect your neighbors!
They have these new lights called LEDs now. Is this video from the 80's?

Any advice you have would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance for your help! See you soon,
Won't that fan system create a very negative air pressure in the rest of the house?
Awesome! 👍😎
A couple off thoughts thouge. It goes carbonfilter to inline fan to lights. That way the fan dosent have to handel the high temps from the lights. And how stealth is this growroom if you stand outside the vent ? And venting into an attice can cause problems with condensation and mold/rot. Is that timer abel to handel the starting amps of 2 600 watts of hps ????
We are soon going to be travel Aus in a bus. Would you have any suggestions for a system on board? Something for esthetics plus fresh leafy veges and fruit/berries.

I mean the thermals its going to give off are off the chart in an uninsulated room (dont know if you commented on this as I skipped ahead laughing at you) nothing stopping themal or light shinning outside for police helicopter to see (not the light the heat the helicopter will see using FLIR). Your ventilation IS TERRIBLE 2x600w HPS are going to cook that room with only one fan going through your cooltubes. Did you even ask for advice from someone at the shop you bought all this gear from?
