In this Broadcast Award-winning, BAFTA and Emmy Award-nominated entertainment show, Taskmaster tyrant Greg Davies (Man Down, Cuckoo), with the help of his loyal assistant Alex Horne (The Horne Section and the show’s creator), sets out to test the wiles, wit and wisdom of five hyper-competitive comedians.
Comedians that have risked life, limb, and dignity in the hope of making the Taskmaster proud so far include: Frank Skinner (The Frank Skinner Show), Mel Giedroyc (The Great British Bake Off), Romesh Ranganathan (Asian Provocateur), Hugh Dennis (Outnumbered), Sally Phillips (Bridget Jones’ Diary), Rose Matafeo (Edinburgh Comedy Award Winner 2018), and Russell Howard (The Russell Howard Hour). Unaware of what awaits them in each wax-sealed envelope, only one competitor can become the victorious owner of His Royal Task-ness’ golden head and be crowned the next Taskmaster Champion.

    I would pay good money to have a QI XL-type of deal for Taskmaster. Just an extra fifteen minutes of stuff that got cut out. Granted, as it is, Taskmaster won't even take my money for the regular series even though I'm willing, on account of being not English, but I would definitely pay even more for Taskmaster XL.

  • @Brinta3

    @Brinta3

    It could only ever be studio banter though. 1. I think it’s very expensive to edit tasks that were cut. 2. They also like to keep those cut tasks secret so that they can try again in a different season. 3. Tasks don’t belong to any specific episode. Recorded tasks that are ultimately cut from the season don’t ever get talked about in the studio recording, so it would be difficult to add them. 4. Not very important, but it would mess up the scoring system. Nobody understands the QI scores, but it’s rather important and precise in Taskmaster.

    With every one of these I can’t help but wonder if it’s worth putting XL (for the most part unedited) episodes on to channel 4 streaming… They’ll get more ad revenue than KZread

    Well David's neighbour is a better pet owner than he is. You're supposed to put your name on tags, rather than theirs, so anyone trying to steal them can't use their name recognition against them. Tbf... I've always used my surname though. Which does confuse people when they read my dog's tag and assume that's her weird name.

    I'm not as familiar with British politics and the monarchy since I'm American, but why would Elizabeth's coronation need to go back to an abdication? Presumably the abdication of Edward VIII? I would imagine in all hereditary monarchies, if the monarch abdicates, then their children would lose their place in line?

    She was niece of the king. If he hadn't've quit and given the crown to his brother, she never would have been in line for the throne.

    I guess my issue is one of semantics. As soon as her father was crowned, she became heir apparent, but her coronation wouldn't need to go back to her father's coronation. Otherwise, the story Charles III's coronation, as well as William and his son's eventual coronations would also have to go all the way back to 1936.

    An improvised song about her coronation doesn't 'need' to include other events.
