Serial Mom is definitely one of the best Black Comedies ever made - intriguing storyline, fantastic acting. Kathleen Turner was perfect as Beverly R. Sutphin. Sam Waterston, Ricki Lake, Matthew Lillard and Justin Whalin were great as well.

This clip is sooooo funny I can watch it 50-100 times and still get gut busting laughs

It's clearly silly. It's not trying to make a serious moral commentary. Other than, dont fuck with people who are happy being themselves. That's kind of the plot of most john waters movies. It's always about unhappy people trying to bring down another group of people who love their family and are confident in their own skins.
