He didn't say some women. He said it was the women, ALL women, on the stage receiving their degrees, have been "sold a diabolical lie, " and then went on to say that "I'm sure MOST of you are most excited thinking about your marriage and the children you will bring into the world," and that his own wife didn't start living until she leaned into her vocation as a wife and mother, and the greatest title ANY woman can aspire to is HOME MAKER. That is indeed what he said. But I think the only people who really have a say in the impact of what he said were the young women who were graduating that day. Only a few media outlets bothered to ask them how they felt about his speech at their commencement ceremony. Many of them were upset by it, and felt it ruined their graduation day.

I’m thoroughly convinced that many people have no idea what a homemaker is, if you read proverbs ch.31 in the Bible, that is a really good picture of a homemaker, that woman is working both inside, and outside of her home, her number one focus is the success of her home, she’s enriching everyone in that house including herself through her hard work, I’m also convinced that the prosperity of such a home will extend far beyond the walls of that residence, right into the community… and beyond.

That's not true!!! You people always try to push this agenda, even though we all know who the kings and queens of entitlements are. If Serena Williams uttered such stoooopiiid words like Butke did...let's see: if she said, "except you men have been fed the wrong information. Your presence is not needed at home at all. At work is where you should be 24/7. Let your women handle the house and children....." or, something like that. I didn't really listen to Butke's speech. Just snippets of it here and there. But let's say Serena said the above. Can you imagine how people, men and women, would come for Serena? They would do much more than jokingly call her out at an ESPY award show.

Women has to make a choice sometimes, trust me paying somebody else to raise your child isnt a good.trade off. Mothers are amazing and his special call out. Serena was a wife and mom before she retired. In 2017, she got married, won the Australian Open (while pregnant with her 1st child), and gave birth. She didn't walk away from tennis to be a housewife/stay-at-home mom. Serena has many titles, and wife & mom are only two of them. Women shouldn't be shamed for having goals and dreams that extend beyond saying "I do" and giving birth. I applaud women for choosing the lives that bring them the most happiness. Whatever that may be.

Different views are one thing. But religion has a bad habit of coming out and saying that people should be subservient and obedient. Which is in itself absolutely unacceptable and dehumanizing. Factor in that this is almost always aimed at women to be subservient to men and it's even worse. This view deserves not one ounce of respect and anyone who even suggests for it to be taken seriously shouldn't be trusted to act in a moral or decent way. The fact that people use the notion that this framework comes from some almighty dictator in the sky compounds the vile nature of such views. It's all supposed to be taken on blind unthinking faith that this framework is "correct". Human beings have been coerced into buying into it through fear of an entity that there's no defensible reason to believe in in the first place. We've been conned by the barbaric writings of ignorant savages to give up our dignity and Butker is just using his position of limited celebrity to try to further indoctrinate young minds into continuing to give up their dignity by suggesting they should do what's expected of them instead of what they may actually prefer. He also believes in "sin", which isn't a concept that anyone who has a functional moral compass should give any seriousness at all.

He spoke similar for fathers and mothers. As a devout Christian, I’m sure he is aware of how Proverbs describes the Godly wife. She does everything for the glory of God first, her family second, and she is very skilled at many trades, including handling finances and bringing in some income herself. I chose to stay home with my children as a homemaker and it was the best decision for our family….I take complete offense to the attack on a man who loves and supports his wife, privately as well as publicly. Apparently there is a lot of truth to what he said, and it hits a nerve with a lot of women, maybe they need to examine their conscience and figure out the reason why, they are so bothered. JS.

Maybe she doesn't enjoy being a MOM,is she saying the sport is more important to her? I mean didn't she say she was stopping so she could spend more time with the kids??don't be such a hater,my most important and meaningful thing in life is being a MOM,I ALSO WORK outside the home but if I had to choose ,hands down I'm choosing my kids,so all your hate towards this man for speaking about it is just pathetic......most celebrities have a shit load of nannies anyway so maybe they don't enjoy being parents either way just because you don't agree doesn't mean you should trash someone for their thoughts on it😢
