The song is about people escaping into digital media such as computer games in order to avoid all problems in actual reality ... and about a desperate need to collectively wake up and get unplugged from digital media that keeps us asleep whilst the actual real world is burning!

I also think he’s saying he’d rather sleep than deal with today’s world, but then he’s fighting that feeling so he can keep going. The plugs in the performance also reminds me of the matrix movie, how the plugs can connect or disconnect you from this world or it’s simulation.

By not paying attention to the lyrical contents, one misses the roundedness of this masterpiece, or rather gets but the entrancing and alluring musical side of it, which is not bad per se, but juxtaposing the music and the topic he sings about means full immersion experience. I’d be chuffed to see you react to it, but this time layering the music with lyrics. I’m sure you’d love it even more. Not to mention the obvious gaming references and connotations. Ohoohoooo I've been waiting for this one!!! :) I've started typing this before even listening to your reaction. I'm so curious about this. It's my favourite song this year. YES! This is ART! Exactly. His theatrical performance, those vocals, the underlying message, all just wow! So, the song is essentially written during pandemic (mostly) and shutting out all the bad news in the world around you and just wanting to sleep through it all. You NEED to watch what he does with the 'Hello? Game over *******' at the Madrid pre-party. If he is allowed do that at Eurovision he will forever be a Eurovision icon. I was so lucky to see it in Madrid live when he did that. Also, he's the sweetest guy! Luke for the win (it won't happen, but I just want to dream)

One of my favourites! The bass and synth, the overall dark vibe - I love it! Two of my other faves are the ones from Latvia (Sudden Lights) and Slovenia (Joker Out). Maybe you already plan on reacting to those, especially the one from Latvia, if not - would be great! 😊

I love it! Somehow had not heard this one yet (I never check out all of them, just the ones people talk about the most), but will be hearing this many, many more times! The haunting melody, the darkness, his voice.. It kind of sounds like something from a modern vampire movie soundtrack (not Twilight, something classier), but comes with a meaningful message on top. I'd be totally happy if this won!

When I first heard a clip of this song I thought it was boring but it grew on me the more I heard of it and by the semi final it had become a favourite. I thought it peaked in the final but then you pointed out the melody being in the background and now I love it even more! Yes, even when the melody isn't there I can hear it, it's fascinating.

I LOOOOOOOOOOVE this one. Depending how it goes live, my second place is between Serbia and Austria. I love the industrialness (I made that up) to it. It makes me think of a lot of artists I listen to like Nine Inch Nails or Celldweller or Rabbit Junk or Orgy. It has a really nice "futuristic" sound and feel to it. It's heavy without having guitars or growling 😂 If you combine Luke Black and Voyager you might come out with something like Scandroid with that 80s synth vibe but sometime off in the future in a sci-fi/gamer reality. I might be going to far in that thought. I just think it's fabulous.

I think the key here is the same as in Konstrakta last year: the song is strange and original but it still manages to remain pleasant to the ear. I wouldn't say catchy but enjoyable on several levels. I'm just so sorry Poland chose to send that trash girly number when they could have sent Jan instead. Imagine listening to both Luke and Jan on the ESC stage.

I agree with your comment about Ireland, and I'm from Ireland. I was so upset that Connelly did not win. However, and also annoyed with Wild Youth, they obviously have no idea that Eurovision has changed beyond all recognition and generic songs don't cut it anymore. not because I am Serbian... but we had one of the most ARTist entrance this year. Unfortunately "something" WAS wrong with Luke's voice in the Final performance. But at least WE WERE IN FINAL!

I feel like there was something wrong with the sound on an actual eurovision show during his performances. I coulb barely hear his voice.

Each end every year I give my word I'm never watching Eurosong contest again, and I still go against my own words... Every year you can simply say who gets exactly how many points and from whom, and the transparency of the political and neighborly "influence" has become something that simply puts the art of many great songs from many countries (Italy, Cyprys, Israel - just to say I'm not talking about only my own country) under a pile of rocks, that many people simply lose interest ine ever participating in similar contests... These are not just my word, these are the words of so many people from different countries who kept calling me for hours on end, asking "OK, what ... why?" Italy was great, Cyprys was great, Israel was great, Albania was great... No politics needed... This is just plain ridiculous.

I was so confused hearing this for the first time - and am still, a bit. 😅 I really don't like Luke's interpretation and voice - except for those little "ethnic flavors", but the music is so captivating and haunting. It kinda reminds a bit of Bring Me The Horizon.
