Tell me why iTunes letting me add the songs in the folder .-.

By far the best video I've found on this topic and its 4 years old. Led me down a rabbit hole a bit obsessing with whether I had correct set up of itunes (now Apple Music) etc. but worth it. Thanks Bro. Now....about those missing files? Whole other story! lmao.

@@bboymac84 I just wasn't very patient getting started. Coming off a 23 year hiatus from spinning (wax) as we used to say. Technology passed me by. I deleted a bunch of stuff from trash and music folder etc. thinking that would fix it. Just made it worse. still I used your methods and got a lot cleaned up but I think that now those missing files are deleted in Apple music too. I pulled a lot of them off of an old hard drive so I am safe to start over and do it right?

Kevin Norman sorry that your stuff got deleted. It’s always a good ideas to create 2 backs and a cloud back up of precious rare music. I would do a back up of your music every month or so. I’m glad I could help

Thanks for addressing this issue of the corrupt files. I don't have iTunes, but thanks for pointing out that the songs need to re-converted.

@@shanewilliams973 Thanks for the reply. It's been some time since I dealt with this. I believe I re-converted some files but not all. Don't really know why the files showed up as corrupt because they played fine otherwise.

Excellent and thank you 😊 I’ve got issues with my Serato DJ worked fine on my old pc then I took old drive out of my pc to which all Serato was on. Then I put it into a caddy so it was portable. My old pc was to slow so bought a iMac but couldn’t get on with it, Mg WD HD I reformatted it to work on Apple then didn’t get on with Apple so sent it back bought a Hp workstation z2 G4 and since using this drive on pc all my libary just showing up orange I’ve struggled to get this sorted. I have tried everything I just can’t get my iTunes to migrate with Serato DJ . I want to start from the stat as my libary is huge. Serato is reading from my old iTunes library and not the one I have on HP it’s a nightmare the old Drive before was E drive bug since formatting it it Chsnged to I drive so I think it can’t find tags 🏷 as they was originally located in E Drive now since using the drive it’s now loading up as I Drive. So I went basically from a iMac to windows and my libary is proper messed up. I’m going to try create crates and playlists in iTunes and then try and drag and drop this files into the crates in Serato.

Neil Cox tru dee if it works. I stopped using computers to DJ and switched to Denon DJ prime! Solved most of my issues with computers! Computers have too much factors and I can’t have that going on when I’m DJing live.

hey I have a quick question. I analyzed my music and put it on the bin on the side. When I finished analyzing the music and finished everything, I came back the next day to analyze more music and my bins are not there, any suggestions to where it have gone?

Hi 💯💯 . When I first started with serato dj lite , All my music worked 🔥 but then for some reason , All the RECENT ONES I want to put on , show corrupted 😑😞😣💀 . HOW can I fix this ?? Can you explain more on it ..if I drag the newly converted files back to all and delete the corrupted files from serato DJ all folder which those songs was already in different crates will the new converted file go back and replace the corrupted songs in each crate?

I just bought a new external hard drive because the music and data that I stored in a previous USB flash drive just disappeared. Long story short I took the flash drive to a computer shop and retrieved the data and now I’m transferring it onto a new 1 TB external hard drive. The thing is, upon transitioning, I’ve lost my crates. Is there a way to restore my crates in the way I had them before the data crashed? I really don’t want to have create new crates if there’s a way to retrieve the original crates. Please help. Thanks 🙏 Peace ☮️

Hmmm the creates are stored in the _serato_ folder. If they are not there then they are lost. I highly suggest getting in the habit of backing up your data. If your on a Mac get dropsync 3. Fastest way to back up your data. I suggest buying hard drives in pairs and backing up your drive in a cloud drive. Don’t worry about dj skills and practicing your cuts. I see this scenario wayyyy too often. I suggest you take my warnings and back up your Mac laptop with with Time machine backup right after you read this sentence!

Man that took for ever to add all the songs to a folders, Well over 1 hour because it would only allow me to drag a certain amount at each time. Then I looked in the folder and it didn't work. only like 70 songs out of thousands corrupt. then I di you step to add to iTunes playlist and it does now give me an options to change into mp3. You said something about a software to convert, but what is it called??

With the new iTunes go to preferences in iTunes by clicking iTunes and click preferences. Then click import settings button and then click import using mp3 encoder option in the drop down menu. Put the setting to Higher quality (192 kbps) and click OK. Now select the files you want to convert to mp3 and then click file and choose covert and click create mp3 version. Done! Now delete all those corrupted files in serato and bring in all the new mp3 versions you just created from iTunes and drag and drop into Serato. Those new mp3 files should analyze fine and should no longer be corrupted files anymore.

1 question will the songs go back into their respective crates once i put them back into serato?

Dj Meggz of u gather all corrupt files with the all crate... copy, convert them drag back to the all crate .. but original corrupt files came from everywhere... so will they go back after dragging back to all crates... and where to you park the new un corrupt files???

when i right click on the corrupt file playlist in Itunes i do not see the option "Create MP3 Version"

Joe Hobbs Jr the took out that feature in the new itunes sadly. But use an app that converts them to .mp3 files
