This is very similar to oil painting miniatures. Except you wipe the mini after the oil is applied. Then you apply the paint on top and get free blending with the under painting.

Yea sir. I love oil paints… but oftentimes lazy to use them, as I need to use my less pointy brushes for them. 😊

Is it the same to use skeleton horde diluited or agrax earthshade?

Yes… in that order too. But you may use just Liquitex Raw Umber ink too. 😊

You know that scale modellers have been using this technique for decades, right? GW does not own it. Matt varnish plus water plus ink/paint.
