Resin or filament?😊
Resin sir. 😊
What grey primer is this?
How do you always avoid coffee stains/patches no matter what you paint with these?
What is that model
3D printed mini by @claycyanide
Wait... where was the chopping? I see one color slapping... no chop.
Did I say slapchop? Did you not read speed paint WIP? 😂
That one coat of Desolate Brown made the rock basing look algae over stone while the paint was wet. Good contrast Speed Paint.
Where did you get the skull lids for the paints?
These models are looking primed and ready for colour. Miniature canvas preparation video.
Sooo ready bro! Just need to attend my nephew’s birthday party today. 😅
@@DonSuratos You have a good day at his birhday. 🎈🎉
using drybrushing as your undercoat is great for armors, stones and other non living things or very dark and harsh looking living things as it's perfectly shown in this video. Brigther contrasts/speedpaints stand no chance against black undercoat. The skin looks the worse with drybrushing undercoat imo and this is why I always use a zenithal priming when using speedpaints. All drybrushed minis look like they are statues :) When I'm in a need for speed, after I did the zenithal undecoat, take my opaque white paint, go over it with my brush on the upper parts where the light would hit the mini the most (forehead, upper cheeks, nosem sholders, upper chaest) to get that extra contrast and then I use my speedpaints. Have in mind that when you use white ink over black primer, the color you get is more gray than white and adding some entra white after, will brighter those parts that you like to bring more attantion too.
This is good for a first try. I find what method works for me when I paint a miniature model I'll use it a lot. I got into stippling recently that helped me with some projects I was stuck on for years.
Great video!
Thank you! Glad you liked the video! 😊
Good work Don!
Thanks James! 😊🎨🎨🎨
Exelente
Gracias! 😊🎨🎨🎨
You do amazing work! I don't use an airbrush, this video was very helpful. I'll be painting an Old Dominion army soon and this aged bronze look is what I'm looking to imitate, so thanks!
Oh! Glad you find the video helpful! 😊🎨🎨🎨
Finally a slap chop video. Can’t wait. :) yay
@@OldManb1981 Haha! Getting too many requests bro. 😊 Hope you’ll like it!?
Cool 👍
Hey man! So early! 😅🎨🎨🎨
@@DonSuratos Always really cool... 🖌
@@goforitpainting Thank you as always for the support man! 😊🎨🎨🎨
I wish you'd make one video using only AP Speedpaints for noobs like me some day, pretty please 🥺
Just speedpaints? No highlights with regular acrylics?
Metalic Speed paints did the job for this king. Will see the rest of the results in progress soon.

😅
Amazing project! Thank you for your support of a good cause! Greetings from Ukraine!
I never would have thought to use sky blue as a base color for painting green skin, this approach would be great for an alien creature skin. I will make note of this.
Great video. Thanks for the tutorial. I can't find much swatches online, and most of them look the same, so I would like to ask - which one will you recommend as a middle grey metallic? If we are to reference Silver as the brightest, and Gunmetal as the darkest (aside from black metallic)?
WOW
Hello Don. Is it acrylic paint ? What is your palette ? Good job as usual !
My mom is from Vietnam. I had no idea Gunpla was so popular there.
Oh! Never been to Vietnam 🇻🇳 But the event looks so big and fun. 😊
Very inspiring
Elektra ftw! 🤣
One of my favourite colours to paint is green from three colours with some stages of them being mixed. I also like the blue basecoat build up to green simular with this Orc model. I have some more favourites, it depends on the faction and miniatures I paint? Then there's the quality of the paints and colours from certain brands where those favourite colours are from.
I always first spray metal colour varnish( that thing doesn't kill all shine of metals and it's rock hard after dry) . Then matt finish. If miniature has blood and guts, I will paint gloss varnish on them.
superb
Thanks! 😊
Exelente 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👏.. se aprende un montón con tus videos 👍...
Thank you! 😊🎨🎨🎨
Is this big guy available to print at home?
Eventually I think. Trident 🔱 Studios will announce its release sir.
"Falling in love..." 😅
😅😂🤣
The Orc's looking vibrant. This is good!
Thanks as always man! 😊🎨🎨🎨
2:28 Japan's Rising Sun Flag has the same meaning as Nazi
And?
Thank you for a great video. Where did you get those awesome speedpaint skull caps, which allow you to see the finished color?
I know this an old video but if you see this I want to say thank you so so very much for this video and all your educational content. This information means the world to absolute beginners like myself. Also, I would love to know where I can get my hands on the desk mat you're seen painting on.
I just received my statue. Mine was green for the body and wings, the rest is dark grey. It has a matte feeling. So my question is, is it already primed? Can I start painting directly since it is already green?
Dat Mini looks crazy good
Dat Mini looks crazy good
I love your voice!!! So relaxing!
My favorites have to be Ice yellow Dark Sea Blue Deck Tan Beige red Japanese Uniform A bit of a cheat, but Game Color compliments Model so well, but Nocturnal Red and Tan are also fantastic. I think now with the revision to both lines, much improved metallics over both, I don't see a reason to dip my toes into other paint lines. I think a good mix of Vallejo, Pro Acryl and some AK should be all I ever need
What you (and other tutorials) said about oils is pretty much the opposite of what I've found after actually trying them out on two large minis this week. Watched a ton of tutorials and expected to love it. Instead I found that while they blend easy, they go on splotchy looking even when being careful to try to be thin over thick etc... unless diluted to nearly a wash. If you blend them just a tiny bit too much all the color mixes and turns to a muddy meh look and/or leaving a fuzzy texture, ruining the work you already did. This made them super stressful to work with as at any moment you could take something from good, to bad with just a touch. They stay wet for so long that this can still happen hours later or even the next day. So unless you wait a day doing, highlights is a huge pain in the ass, because your highlight color can still mix when you apply it, ruining the brighter color. Plus you might need to blend it a bit to keep it from looking like blotchy textured shit. Overall the learning curve seemed really steep for learning how you touch, paint, blend etc... without ruining them. Was expecting to love them, and had they worked like all tutorials say they do I would have, but found it a lot more work and time for a lesser result. I've got one last attempt planned to give it another try to change my mind though, so we'll see if I can click with it
Asking questions and instead of answering them just repeating the question in different wording?
What? 😬
Thank you for the excellent video! I just bought some speed paints and had no idea what to do with the medium bottle. This helped a lot!
You are most welcome! The medium is awesome! 😊🎨🎨🎨
The skin details on the creature makea it look reptile. Ghoulish miniature.
Thanks man! I had to paint textures as the sculpt lacks details on a lot of areas. 😊
❤ the hands and feet colors
Hey, love this! Im looking for vibrant colour mixes. What colours did you airbrush these gorgeous minis with?
Thanks! I did not show in the video? 😊
You said using your "usual vibrant colours". I can eyeball it, but i was hoping to grab the names of the paints you used as Im hoping to base my deathguard off this. Its been a while so no worries if you dont remember either 👍 Also, OMG thanks for replying to a 8month old video comment!!! @DonSuratos
But what IS the flow improver? what is in the formula or what's another name for it?
It’s practically a retarder. 😊
“Easy” yeah I’m sure it is for you
Should be for everyone with a bit of practice. 😊
@@DonSuratos well I’m gonna subscribe to your patron and see if that’s true
not me accidentally clicking on this thinking its a beauty tutorial
😅
I have issues painting with oils, like the paint is very thick. Or is mixing the base layer shadows and highlights. Is this basic information available on the Crowfunding campaign? ❤
I usually solve that by adding a bit of solvent to apply more paint from the brush. It will always blend, but the higher amount of pigments applied keeps the highlight color visible
@@dmel I Will try. Thanks mate
Oh, the oil painting at Kickstarter is just an introduction. Maybe 3 pages. The Kickstarter is more focused on @thearmypainter Warpaints Fanatic and a bit of Speedpaints. 😊
