I visited Seoul last month and really liked their Metro. Once I figured it out I had no trouble getting around the city alone. So much better than BART in San Francisco! Very clean and efficient. I particularly liked the fact that TMONEY can be used on all transportation even cabs.

Ive been to berlin. The s and ubahn hv great connectivity. Trust me toronto is worst. The fact that in 2023 the toronto subway has no wireless service and only 2 lines says it all. Not to mention the dirty trains, high fares, safety issues lately, overcrowded..the newest train from 2009 in the toronto subway looks worst than the oldest train in the seoul metro because of its poor design..thanks thunderbay bombardier for selling toronto junk.

Thanks for the interesting video Johnny; it all makes Eglinton Station look pretty drab by comparison. Platform screen doors make so much sense when you see them in action here. Aside from the obvious of keeping riders safe from the tracks and trains, the offer more opportunities for providing information to riders such as next train arrivals, service disruptions (looking at you TTC), and even advertising. Also, they must help keep the platforms relatively cleaner by containing the dirt the trains kick up as well as reducing somewhat the noise they create.

I like how the subway platforms in Seoul have screen doors. Here in Vancouver, ever so often you would get disruptions in service due to "medical emergencies" (somebody fell/jump into the tracks) or trains would stop all of the sudden due to "track intrusion" (or some dropping their water bottle/cellphones into the track).

@@cc4114 that is so scary and also so sad. All that needs to be done is put in those doors. I’m sure the cost would be high for stations to implement that do not have this system. But it is much better than losing a life daily. This is so so sad. Here in the USA we need to do the same thing put in the safety doors.

@@JohnnyStridesI see, but government should re-invest in their metro system consider how modern everything else is in South Korea. These trains are like 40 years old. Japan has even invested in new trains. China is also very late with their infrastructure expansion so they have the latest technology for a reason. Chongqing and Chengdu used to have rural areas, not anymore, those areas have become urban in recent years as more of the population have moved to these cities over time.
