Rambo is no pushover, and if you did your homework he was also in the marines for a few years while serving in Cambodia. He may be able to kill you with a teaspoon, but Rambo would kill him with his bare hands. Not real? Sure. What I like about this feature (in part) - Sylvester Stallone as director improved it a lot, as he replaced a yet to be named candidate - is the mercenaries are from different nations and take part for any number of reasons. Some are in it for the action, further experience or purely for the cash and "Lewis" IMO is all of them : think of him as UK's version of Rambo and that describes him.

Lewis obviously has attitude problem. It might be reason why he was SAS and why he has ex-wife and judging by his manner they weren't in good terms when marriage failed. He does have honor as he does the job he was hired to do with people that were hired as well and he is as tough and skilled as expected.

ikr i think people criticised it for "trying" to be more serious as compared to like the last two movies rambo 2 and 3 where it was more campy and that the first movie was serious but aimed at the rambo character where this one didnt really was more aiming at the plot which was more towards the whole thing about the country and the whole saving the religious people bad guys who dont have that much character to them as compared to the sherrif from first blood and stuff. and that it was overly violent and gory i think the people said it was gratuitous or something. at least thats what i remember when this movie came out and people gave it like average scores. i think now people appreciate the hyper violent scenes because its badass but its fucked compared to previous movies and last blood (they tried different weird stuff considering the setting). the more serious tones even though it has less character and personality with the side characters, the missionaries, the rebels, the mercenaries and bad guys. idk i really like this movie rambo has more subtlety in this movie than last blood. they tried with last blood with the whole adoptive daughter deal but then the bad guys, set pieces with the whole home alone traps and stuff mixing that serious tone with the daughter and the campy with the set pieces kinda messed with it

They should have had Rambo knock him out and throw him overboard. One headbutt and the song keep being sung because no one saw it. That hard and that fast.

Good film this, incidentally, the toughest actor in real life in the movie is Ko Min Htay, who plays the evil major. He actually fought for the Kharim Independence Army for 30 years, wounded in action several times. First hand experience of being on the receiving end of the Myanmar army.

@@_Ben4810 what's your point? Hitay has been a member of the Kharim Independence Army for 30 years, unlike the rest of the cast he's actually fought the Burmese army? Educate yourself about this bloody conflict before you make a further idiot of yourself.

There is a nugget of truth in that statement. God allows even Satan to mess certain kinds of people up for a bigger purpose. Satan is too proud to notice. Sometimes, evil doers receive judgement from other evil doers.
