This was the most brutal shootout I have ever seen in a movie but at the same time the villains deserved it so badly. The Tatmadaw made the Soviets and Vietnamese army look like Saints compared to the other films. Burma has the longest running civil war in human history still going on. The country has gone through so many brutal regimes. The guy who plays the evil commander was never an actor he was actually a Burmese freedom fighter who was very familiar with the army's atrocities. His family was punished over the film he starred in.

Saving private Ryan had similar for a brief moment, when U.S troops were hit with (i think a 20mm canon). But you're right, not many films show what impact such weapons have on a human body.

I like Last Blood, but I agree they should've ended it here. Rambo deserved a happy ending, even if it was rather ambiguous. Last Blood showed that he'd finally made a somewhat normal, happy, and fulfilling life for himself, then took it all away just so they could have a gory finale. It just felt too mean-spirited. He's no saint, but there's a good man underneath all those questionable deeds and trauma. Yet once again, he loses everyone he loves. I know life isn't fair, but that's why we write books, stories, plays, movies, etc., because through them we can MAKE life play fair. In our imaginations, people can get what they actually deserve. Rambo deserved to be happy, and in my version of events, he watched his 'daughter' grow up to be a successful and happy woman, and died peacefully surrounded by his loved ones, buried at Arlington with honors befitting someone who served his country and paid the price for it.

Rambo 2008: Rambo got rid of the worst villains yet in a super-gory final battle and FINALLY makes it back home. The Last Bood: Loses adoptive daughter, loses his house, and is yet again a drifter wandering the country. ... Why does Hollywood have a FETISH of taking a legacy character and soiling what was originally a good final note ending? Star Trek: The Undiscovered Country: The original ST crew saves the day again, and decide to have a final ride with the Enterprise. Star Trek Generations: Crossover with TNG crew being disappointing and Captain Kirk dying from a bridge crumbling on him. Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade: Riding off into the sunset after adjusting relationship with awesome Sean Connery dad Crystal Skull/Dial of Destiny: Here's this pointless adventure with a dumbass son and dumbass aliens and afterwards here's this overly long, CGI-heavy vomit fest with grandpa Indy being depressed for having divorced Marion after their son died in Vietnam and being dragged to another pointless dumbass adventure by a dumbass lady to stop a dumbass villain. Star Wars: Return of the Jedi: Han Solo gets rescued, the Emperor is defeated, the heroes celebrate together. Sequel Trilogy: The victory in ROTJ meant nothing, Han and Leia broke up, Luke is hiding after almost killing his nephew yet nonsensically leaves a map to be found (seriously, in The Last Jedi they don't bother to explain why he left a map if he wanted to be alone for the rest of his days. These movies REALLY want to punish you for thinking), and they all die without sharing a scene together while new dumbass heroes and new dumbass villains pretty much repeat the same stuff we saw in the OT but so much worse and lamer. Come on, let's do a sequel to The Return of the King in which a new villain has risen and Aragorn is a loser who failed everyone.

Rambo's role in this final battle is different than in other movies, but to me, it's kind of symbolic. He's had a lot of anger, rage, and anguish build up over the decades since Vietnam, and is unable (or maybe unwilling) to let it go. His conversations with Sarah cause the cracks to form, but then he mans that 50 cal, and all the rage just pours out of him as he fires all those rounds. And after he gets it out of his system, he finally goes home. They should have ended the series with this movie.

Rambo looked down on her stoically as she searched for Michael. Rambo wanted her, but she found her Michael, who was more in tune with her, still alive and treating the wounded. The interplay between Rambo's and her expressions is quite something. She and Michael realized that they owed Rambo everything; and I was moved by the way that she looked from Michael to Rambo, comparing them. She made her choice, and Rambo continued home alone.

I agree The thing religious people dont understand is that even god would understand the situation theyre in. Yes, God said "thou shalt not kill, or turn the other cheek" but God has never said "lay there and die and let the enemy take your life" or "stand there and let the lion devour you, thats it kid, youve had a good run" Those missionaries had a noble cause but they were completely out of their minds and out of touch with reality and the whole pacifist "peace and love" angle led these people into this situation to begin with. So I think when it came time to kill or be killed, it was a harsh lesson for the pacifist missionary dude.

I’ve served many decades in the Armed Forces and I understand Rambo’s grief to some degree. I’ve learned that we’re all changed by our environments that we’re in! Nothing ever goes back to the way it was in any of our lives! Every one of us has selfish self-serving motives across this planet! None are left unscathed when you pull back the propaganda and you have to look yourself in the mirror. That is the story of Rambo and our story as well! Make the best life you can with the time you have!

What Rambo does with the 50 caliber is a pretty fair representation of what Audie Murphy did during WW2. Audie Murphy held off a company of German soldiers for an hour and led a counter attack, an act for which he was awarded the Medal of Honor. Audie Murphy suffered with ptsd later in life, and the character of Rambo is based at least in part on him.

@@emt5330 The Germans did much more heroic acts though. The twelfth panzer division were comprised of boys no older than 16 and they held off the allied enemies in France by themselves for a long time. When the American criminals were invading Berlin a little boy took out multiple american tanks by himself with an anti tank weapon. And the German resistance by the volkssturm civilian resistance groups, was one of the greatest defense fights in History, many German civilians were killed by the allies specially by the communists, but they put up an incredibly fierce resistance. Also in my country the Germans were helping my people against the red army, and during the final stages of the war the Americans and British came to help the communists, the allies perpetrated numerous atrocities against my population and other populations in the Baltics, and collaborated with the communist war crimes. But I suppose those facts aren't convenient for your narrative huh

He has, for so many times, given life to so many people, the hope to live in peace, the one he ever wanted but never had. He's John Rambo, a full blooded combat soldier; a Warrior caught in tragic causes, fighting somebody else's dirty war, battles that sacrificed many of his friends and loved ones. He's a broken man, mind, heart and soul, shattered with nothing but grievances, sorrows, pain, sufferings, and anguish. He's a good man trapped in everyone's life but himself, tormented by living in a vessel, a killing machine. A sad man, he kills violently but feels remorseful whenever he's done that. Wars never Left him alone, came back and killed whoever he loved most. May you find peace one day dear Rambo, a Warrior of hope and peace!
